Was a complete script kiddy back then too; remember copying source code from a thread, compiling it, the dropping the jar in some folder. Getting a 99 legitimately was considered by me a big accomplishment and one my best rs moments was getting 99 hunter back in 2009. Botting was cool in the beginning but soon I found that it took away any feeling of pride. Friend in uni reintroduced me to osrs in Nov 2017. At uni I studied computer science so it wasn't long before I decided grinding sucks and created my first "bot". It was an autoclicker written in python and I used it for alching. Some notable features I specifically designed for osrs were... Set 2 points on your screen to make a rectangle. These form bounds for where to click. If the mouse ever left the bounds, it will be moved back. Random normal distribution between clicks Set a number of clicks (alchs) to do. Stop afterwards. It was fun to write and like a day after finishing I decided to check out actual botting clients with the caveat that if I were to bot I would do so with my own scripts. Doing so preserves the feeling of accomplishment as effort had to be put forth to write good scripts. I briefly considered 3bot until seeing that it costs money to actually run even free scripts for more than 2 hours, Fuck that. I made my first account and had fun for the little time I played it. We then moved houses and I didn't have access to a computer and being young me forgot my login. I completely forgot about the game until later on in 2004/2005 when I found it again and remembered having fun. Played it again for a bit but we moved houses again and forgot my login. RIP. 2006/2007 is when I first really started playing RS and knew very little from what I remembered previously. I'm the competitive type and every game I have played before this I played it until I beat it and normally tried to beat it before all my siblings and friends. Whenever I got into a game I just had to beat it or I felt like I failed and wasted my time on a game that I couldn't beat. This is what drove me to try to beat RS. Back then I thought there was just a message saying 'YOU WIN' after I finished leveling up or got a certain amount of gold. I would then play this game nonstop until I could beat it. Waking up real early and going to bed late at night just to get that extra level. Weekends were spent inside to try and beat this game. I went to the extremes because I never spent this long on a game before and it was getting annoying to me that I couldn't beat it so I was spending so much time on this game to beat it. Later on, closer to 2008, I sort of toned down on playing to beat the game and 'no-lifing' but I still played it exclusively. I still found it fun probably because of all the friends I had made in the game. I was 15 around this time and couldn't pay for P2P so I was F2P for a good while. Around this time is when I first started looking for auto clickers because spam clicking was annoying. Found some ghost mouse recorder and Gary Hood's scripts online publicly to High Alch. I used this for a bit but noticed it was real annoying. I kept searching and found some stuff called botting but had no idea what it was and left it alone. I didn't know botting was a thing and thought people just didn't talk. This was also back when I used to get muted a lot so when people didn't reply I just thought they were muted. Skip another year down to 2009, my friend Greg on RS introduced me into RSBot. He would bot his account and never got banned and told me about this site and how it was really good. I went on it and downloaded the bot and used it for a bit. I got some XP gains overnight but ultimately didn't like it so much. If I were to play a game I wanted to do it myself. What's the point in playing a game when you aren't even the one playing it? I left it alone for a while after that. 2010 is now here and I have been F2P for the past three to four years of my RS life. I have never been member before (I had money but just never was able to buy a game card and didn't have any bank cards) and I really wanted to become a member for the first time. Greg told me that I could pay for my membership through RSBot and that was how he had made all of his RSGP and that's how he was paying for his membership. Intrigued, I went back to this site a year later and tried to see what I could do for membership. ----- p****bot ----- Reveal hidden contents 2010 is when I really started getting into the blackmarket. I went into the services section and saw that I could actually make money if I played on someone else account which was pretty crazy to me. Due to the wilderness and free trade update previously, everyone was using PayPal to pay for services. I sort of knew what PayPal was but never used it before. I went online and made an account and went to get started. Unfortunately, I never knew about all of the scams and how hard it was to find someone who would actually pay me. I made a thread and waited and waited but no one replied. I looked at other threads and people were skipping over my thread and replying to others even though I kept it bumped. Didn't know why people skipped over my threads so I started going out looking at others' threads to see if I can get some work. I went to every thread I could find and sent a private message to the owner asking if I could work with his service. Every single one turned me down which was pretty saddening. I was doing this for around a week until I was able to get a vouch for doing a free quest for someone. After that, I quickly got a second and third vouch. I shortly after was able to work with someone called 'Ownedurmom'. He was a big guy with his own thread back then and me being in his service gave me access to so many people requesting work. As a teenager in high school, I was making some pretty decent money playing a game I found fun. This was what was really exciting to me. I started off doing questing and just stuck with it. Eventually, I ended up making a second thread of my own while still being with Ownedurmom. I was one of the faster questers and definitely the cheapest so I was getting work more and more. I got to the point where I was 10 days booked and people would pay me in advance for a quest I wouldn't do for another ten days. If they needed it faster they would a rush fee for me to do it some time that week. All of this happened within a week or two. As soon as I had enough money, I went and bought the VIP rank as I was told this would help out a lot and it sure did. The next month I had enough to buy the Sponsor rank and that helped out even more. I never left the market section and did nothing but service and my vouches just kept going up and up. I ended up making a middleman thread that same year and then people started using me like crazy for that also and my vouches were getting more and more. I ended up leaving Ownedurmom's service since I was too busy with mine and ultimately had to hire some workers for to help me because I was getting too much work to even complete. I was then just a market user for a while. I went into Random and started talking with other people but I was just known for being a Quester and a MM. I was making good money and was contempt. Had money in my PayPal, had a lot of vouches and it was looking good. Later on, free trade was again introduced into RS. This made it so much easier for me because I would now collect RSGP as payment instead of RSGP as I had too many chargebacks. One thing that I started to love doing was posting in disputes. People were calling me a 'wannabe mod' thinking I was posting trying to get mod but I honestly just loved disputes. I have been scammed so many times by now and it was either so small I didn't care or I didn't have the right proof and the guy didn't get banned. It was infuriating that someone could scam me and just get away with it. Since I've been in the market for a year now I knew what to look for and how to tell apart scammers. I would always post in the disputes section, pm the person who got scammed and tell them how to get the proper proof, etc. I would normally have my post deleted and got infracted here and there but I didn't care since I was trying to help out. It's 2011 and p****bot is saying that they need a mod. This was perfect because if I got mod, I could now post in disputes and actually help out without having all of my posts deleted. I ended up getting promoted to mod and I immediately went into the disputes section. I was an admin on another site prior to this and was already familiar with the ModCP and AdminCP so I was somewhat familiar with it. I was also still active in the market and so I went in and found a ton of ban evaders. I ended up racking a lot of mod logs from this and was again scrutinized by other mods saying I was 'mod log farming', but I tried to ignore it. At this time, I was the only mod who really posted in disputes. Most of them didn't like it and preferred to do other sections. It was fun and I caught a lot of ban evaders and scammers. Starting out in the market helped me out a lot here because I knew a lot of the little tricks scammers would do and I could see myself doing the trade and also see how users would try to hide proof when they scammed. A lot of users didn't even know how to write a scam report with the proper format and the scammer would reply saying there's no proof and other bs and would request for me to delete. Luckily, though, I was able to search up a lot and could see where the scam was and ended up banning a lot just from that. I ended up resigning from mod later on. I had too much going on in my life at the time and I was spending too much time on p****bot when I should be focusing on other things. This was a hard decision for me but real life always comes before any game. ----- OSBot ----- Reveal hidden contents Now it's 2013 and this is when I first hear about OSBot. I haven't been active recently but 07 is released and p****bot is trying to make a bot for OSRS. One of my friends was on here and got scammed by a user. I believe he was still mod on p****bot at the time but he had told me that he has no rep on OSBot and went first to someone and ended up getting scammed. I ended up coming on here to read his scam report that was already made. This is the second time I'm coming on OSBot but first time I'm making an account. I was told about this site previously when it first opened but never made an account. After reading through the scam report my friend Dexter's scam report at @5uck, I could tell that the guy scammed him but did a bad job at trying to fake it. I posted how he got scammed and highlighted certain pictures but my posts got deleted and mods just ignored my post. @5uck was a mod at the time and so my friend was a grey name. Half the site was backing the mod and it ultimately turned into a popularity contest with my friend losing the scam report. I then went into the spam area and mods were always locking threads and deleting posts which I didn't agree with. If it's spam then let us spam, right? I got annoyed with those two situations and left OSBot and went back to p****bot. My first impression of this site was just that it's a popularity contest and the disputes was a joke. After a big issue happened on p****bot, I ended up just quitting that site and coming to OSBot. I had no vouches here but a couple of people knew me from p****bot. I was restricted on p****bot at the time for 'lying' so people here thought I had scam quit there and came here to scam as well. Every post I made a few people, mostly @Ricky, would post on my thread saying that I'm banned on p****bot. Me being a grey name and him being a sponsor made people hesitant to deal with me at first, though I overcame that and started doing increasingly more and more services on here. I realized that selling bonds was some easy money so I started doing that and made some really decent profit and gained some quick feedback as well. I would have multiple accounts and put in really low bond offers overnight and buy them for a lot cheaper than normal. I'd then go and sell them for what everyone else was or a tad cheaper and end up making a pretty hefty profit. I guess most people paid GE price or a bit over and sold for what they could. I ended up buying for a lot lower than GE price and all that was pure profit. I realized I was then losing a lot of money to swappers so I joined a swapping chat and made some friends with other swappers. I was now a ranked member in two swap clans. I was making good profit selling bonds then I made even more profit swapping the GP I made from bonds. Since I was starting essentially from scratch, it took me around a month of bonds to make enough money to buy my first rank: $100 donor. It then took me two weeks after that to buy my second rank: lifetime sponsor. I was gaining feedback faster than I ever did before because selling bonds is essentially free feedback. Servicing takes a while as you have to get the order then take time to complete it. With bonds, I get an order and it's completed instantly. I ended up competing with some of the top people to be the #1 ranked with feedback. I quickly got to #2 ranked - not sure if I hit #1 though. When I was in market, though. I always went for profit first to grow my net worth. Feedback was just a secondary but I would not sacrifice profit purely for feedback. ----- That's about my story about how I got into the black market and grew. Mostly market centered as that's what I've always done. One annoying thing I see is how people cry about how hard it is to get vouches and then tell me that I don't understand or I think it's easy because I have a lot of feedback and ranks. That is the most idiotic thing you can possible say and you're just showing your ignorance. I started out with nothing just like mostly everyone else. I wasn't known on RS at all and I started from nothing but some 15 year old who wanted to make some money to pay for membership. Some people will obviously have an advantage based on their mindset, how they grow up and certain luxuries they have. But on here, as long as you can speak English, there's really little excuse. You just can't do something and expect to instantly see progress. Nothing is built overnight but hard work alone won't get you to where you have to be. Educate yourself on what you want to do and what you need to do because if you have no idea how to do it, no amount of hard work will help.
