This is a development release focused on security of local scripts, but also affects SDN scripts. Historically we've been one of the most open and welcoming bots for any new scripters. However in recent weeks, we're aware that there have been instances of malware in the local/downloadable scripts section. This has led us to reconsider our position. To protect our users, we've chosen to begin activation of the security systems we've been developing for both local and SDN scripts. It severely limits the abilities of scripts to damage your computer in a number of ways. For example, it: -Blocks reading/writing any files outside the OSBot/Data directory. So scripts will no longer be able to access files all over your computer and any of their configurations will be limited to that directory. They will continue to have access to the temporary files directory. -Blocks Robot to prevent native use of mouse/keyboard -Blocks full screen capabilities to prevent spoofing your desktop -Blocks creating new classloaders that could further load malicious code -Blocks runtime permissions and native library loading -Etc. We have chosen to continue allowing limited reflection use and unrestricted internet access for the time being. We believe that unrestricted internet access won't be as significant of an issue with the new restrictions, but we will continue to monitor it. If you need additional permissions for something, let us know in the Client Bugs and Suggestions section. So - Let's start with a little background. I've been into botting since way back when rsbots was around and have always enjoyed the whole automation side of things. I've also always been amazed and how people can write up scripts for anything they want and basically earn a living from doing so. Now, This definitely isn't the career for me but I'd love to give it a go so here I am attempting to learn! I'll post what I get up to day by day and how my script is progressing. Motherlode works fairly well when set to random. Doesnt go up the ladder. Decent script didnt get the best results could have been from lag.. I would like to try the blast furnace script just for a bit before making a decision on which one.

First of all: deadman world or normal mode? The script deals with situations differently (depending on which world type) that's why ^^ Also, the optimal setup for stalls is thieving in a high-population world, because the bot works better if there are people already thieving from a stall, so the bot will count which tile around the stall has the most players, and it will stand on that tile. If there aren't many people, the bot will get confused and it will just pick a random tile around the stall. I will make some changes to how that works, so it will favor some tiles over others (if in a non-popular world), will be out in next update asap. But in the meantime just go to a high pop. world and the bot will run better, just until I post this new update As for aggros, if in a DMM world, the bot will try go to the bank, avoiding all guarded zone exits (due to pkers/lurers), if not in a dmm world it should just go to the bank

I'm sure many of you have already noticed, a rank change took place over this weekend. The purpose of this change was to tackle two issues: 1. The very large gap between SDN Scripter and Official Script Developer. 2. New scripters releasing premium scripts. By breaking down the scripter community into three tiers instead of two, we were able to solve pretty much everything. The breakdown: Scripter I Entry-level rank and assigned to scripters upon the release of their first script. Benefits include client VIP privileges; must maintain an active script on the SDN. Scripter II Scripter I members may apply for this rank provided they have at least one month on the forums. At this point in time they are assigned a test based on Java and the OSBot API. A passing score of 4/5 is required, failed tests result in test cooldowns. Benefits include VIP client privileges and the ability to release premium scripts. Must maintain an active script on the SDN. Scripter III Scripter II members may apply for this rank provided they have at least three months on the forums. Selection process is very competitive and can take anywhere between two months to over a year. The application is multi-faceted and is geared toward grading a scripter as a programmer. Benefits include VIP client privileges, ability to release premium script, and the opportunity to work in special duties such as SDN Manager. Provided there are no pending disciplinary actions, does not need to maintain an active script on the SDN.
