So, I just found out from my regional manager I'll be teaching Python not C++ this summer... I have avoided Python up until now mainly because I've had no use for it and I hate it's white space. When I say avoided I mean, I fucking hate it and all it's fan boys I've come across, no offence. I most proficient in Java and getting almost as good in C/C++. So I was wondering if anyone would recommend a decent book for me to quickly grasp the concepts for next month. Also, I don't know why, I asked to teacher older kids around 18 but the Python class is some intro one for 10-12 years old so I don't expect to be going deep into the language at all.

Thought it was only csgo, but now I realized it is happening in other fps games i have maybe you are just retarded

So two days ago for some reason I have been getting this weird bug where every 5-7 seconds my fps drops crazily. Being I don't have vsync on I watch as 300 fps goes to 150, and the screen freezes for half a second. I've verified the cache integrity 2 times and my drivers are up to date.. It is just this game too, so I have no clue what to do.. specs, geforce 980, i7-56k, 16gb ram 5/7 I have realized this is not happening just to csgo now, but to other fps games too

Looking for some suggestions for a new laptop in the 1000-1200 range. I would be primarily using it for programming for school. Currently I have a desktop I built with decent specs I use for gaming, so the laptop would be for commodity. But yeah as I said It will be a travel laptop which I would bring to with me to class and on campus to the library and stuff. I'm looking at the razer blade stealth. But I'm also tempted with the mac book air even though I hate mac and have never learned to use one in my life. I also believe that all macs come with a swift ide, so ios development would be possible, which I don't plan on doing but it will be there if I ever need it. So shoutout some stuff, and thanks for the feedback.

you should probably learn some more programming logic before scripting.. Makes everything a bit easier

Hey maybe know we can move the veteran tag requirement like 2 months up ;)

farthest i got was (2+.007..x) log(x) = log(11.9..)

For the past term I've been taking a class "Computer Organization and Intro to Assembly" also known as 15-213 at CMU. It teaches about dissembling programs and being able to look at assembly interpretation of your program. I found the course although, very hard very informative and gives a lot of useful and applicable knowledge. As I primarily use Java, I am transitioning from it more and more everyday. But I was mainly curious if Java has something similar to c or c++ where you can look at the guts and insides of he program more. I know Java uses byte code but is it similar to assembly as being able to read it and understand it ? TL:DR is there something similar to C's disassembling and examining the assembly code in java

Most of you probably know i'm a college student pursuing a B.S in Computer Science. I have to choose my classes for next year tonight and looking for a good minor to complement my major and I'm pretty sure I want it to be math. But, because of the intensity of my curriculum and the required 4 business classes to major in applied mathematics a double major is not an option. I play on doing, Artificial Intelligence or Cyber Security. So what do yo think is better Statistics or Discrete Math? Course I've take: (Non gen eds) *Will take with projected Discrete Minor Freshman Year: Calc I-III Discrete Math I Linear Algebra I Function Programming Design Object Oriented Programming Systems Programming Intro to Machine Organization and Assembly Language Sophmore: Probability Applied Statistics Graph Theory* Operating Systems Algorithms Database Systems I Software Engineering Mechanics Physics Electromagnetic Physics Intro to Electrical and Computer Engineering Intro to Biology Jr - Senior * Combinatorics * Discrete Optimization * Discrete II plus other engineering. computer science, and required classes

What would be the most effective way to learn scripting?

he wants to learn the basics of programming not be 60k in debt like many of us. XD -

Well i'm in a university now, but the question just popped in my head looking around some VICE news articles. the question was meant to be open ended....

Another random question for everyone out there. I just want to know what you guys think because the question just popped in my head. As the title states why do you believe we do or do not need diversity. Types: - Racially Diverse - Gender Diverse Areas: -Academia -Work Force my opinion: In academia I think it's good to be diverse racially and by gender because, at this point in a college students life they must adapt to a new environment that is probably much different than their own at home. I think i prepares them for the possibility of what type of environment and people they will be dealing with in the future. I also think it brings in many opposing views and opinions which is important for everyone at least be exposed to, which allows a student to be well educated. workforce: In the workforce I think it is good (not essential) to be racially diverse because again you bring people from different backgrounds and experiences, who have different ways of solving problems and dealing with them. In a workforce I don't think it is important to be gender diverse. I mean yeah it's good to have a women's or male's approach on something. But, gender is binary and I don't think having half male and half female is diverse at all. Nevertheless you could have 5 women and 5 men from the same area and all of them be similar. Which is why I believe it's important to be racially diverse because you can get many people whether male or female from different areas and backgrounds and different experiences. Chat away..

I don't know this probably will sound really snobbish. But what I intend to do in my lifetime through my career is to evolve and progress society. I want to be that person who helps send people to space, program robots to do necessary petty jobs or do something that some how improves and builds onto today's technology. Unless I'm getting billions and finding a new social media app, I don't want to work in consumerism where I program apps and back end websites to satisfy someone's inessential needs.

Okay, so right now I am pursuing a B.S in Computer Science and a minor in Discrete Mathematics. I plan on focusing my courses around cyber security and algorithms/A.I. But I'm becoming more and more hesitant of my choice of major. My overall problem I am having is 1. Whats the probability I'll be attaining a job that is below my skill level, such as web development or app development. 2. What's my job security. Everyone online says C.S degrees are useless because anyone can learn how to program and get a job. Then I go on google and find tons of responses showing successful people who didn't have a C.S degree getting a programming job. I don't want to waste my money on school if my degree is useless. So for you people out in the tech world, all comments are encouraged and welcome.. Also, what do you think is a better minor for a CS major -Discrete Mathematics -Robotics Engineering

I'm really trying to understand it. But when I search for anything explaining what it is. It's just a bunch of people spitting out broad and unspecific phrases like, to empower the middle class!, help the many not the few!. I mean anyone could say that practically for any political ideology. So does anyone actually know what the hell it is. For me it just sounds like a irrelevant world that people label themselves to push a far left liberal more communist like agenda.

hate all of them Bernie> Trump> Hiliary Bernie won't be able to pass anything, so he'll be a position holder till some viable comes up next election

If you really want to be someone up and can... you don't worry about getting in trouble by a principle
-
the fact your worried about getting in trouble... Makes me think you shouldn't try beating anyone up

There probably isn't one because there is no need for one.. The answer to this is a simple google. BET was created when blacks werent allowed to be on other channels with whites so they created a network for blacks. Which was like 50 years ago which is not a long time ago. I mean it isn't any different than another white dominated network with their token black actors.
