The Hero of Time
I've set a goal formyself, 100 push ups everyday ( ill do this in ~10 minutes each day so it wont consume much time) any gym members or specialists that want to give some input on this? it's not like im going to give up or anthing, i just did 100 push ups and i feel amazing., just looking for some information from guys here that go to the gym about how much affect it will have if i do this for lets say a month(note that my arms are already pretty buffed, but not insanely) also, will this burn much calories? i might be strong and fit, but im getting a bit of a belly which i dont like :P (no im not fat  ) Edited November 25, 2015 by The Hero of Time

Token
It will burn calories but won't make your muscles grow much (if they will grow at all).

ILikeToCheat
I did at least 500 daily in the Army. Burns calories, and will tighten arm muscles. But you won't gain much.

Genii
Try and build your amount, start at a comfortable number then add a couple a day.
Eliot
It will make you better at doing pushups, and depending on if it's challenging you'll gain some chest, arm, and core strength. Doing pushups is not an efficient way to burn calories. If you want to lose weight eating fewer calories is the best way to do so. Apaec
Depends what kind of pressups you do. If you want to look big, weight training is your best bet, unless you're careful with how you do your exercises. Pressups are a very good exercise to as they use a range of muscles (core, back, arms... etc) I'd recommend instead of doing 100 flat pressups, do a range of different excersises. Mix in some tricep pressups (normal pressup but with ur elbows flush with your body - these are good because they focus triceps much more). Also, diamond pressups are good for back and even use a little bit of chest. (put ur hands in diamond shape (basically next to eachother) on the floor). Then maybe if you want to get some good core, leg raises are good (esp for lower core). if you can, try doing some V-ups or vertical leg raises if you have a bar. You want to get to the stage where you can't do any more of an excersise, or hit your incremental goal When I started, I focussed on tricep pushups. I could only do about 20 or so in one go and then I would collapse. Since then, i've done lots of weight training and daily pressups and handstand pressups (learning the balance was good fun too ), and now I can do 130 orso. Also, if you've got insane core and back, you can try planche pushups. While i'm still trying to learn to do a full planche (can do bent arm full planche, and bent leg planche, but can't quite do the full planche). These are amazing because they use almost every muscle in your body lol. Gl! apa

Alvin
I run track and, during stretches, we're required to do 7 sets of 21, meaning 147 pushups. That's every day, but I'm still skinny as a stick. But through time you'll want to increase how much you do, almost hitting your limit. When I started, 7 sets was impossible; now it's 2nd nature
