Administrator Maldesto Posted 10 hours ago Administrator Posted 10 hours ago OSBot Update – Transition to the New Native (C++) Client The current Java/Stealth client is temporarily back online, but it will break any time soon for the last time. This will mark the definitive end of support for the Stealth/Java version of OSBot. For reference: Stable 2.7.71 release thread Our team is now fully focused on developing a brand-new Native C++ Client, which we plan to release soon (no ETA available yet). This has been a major undertaking, requiring @Patrick, @Khaleesi and @Zach to completely rewrite the OSBot client from the ground up to support the Official OSRS Client. Important notes on scripts: Existing Java scripts will not be compatible with the new native client and will not carry over. We cannot require or expect our script writers to rewrite their entire repositories for free. Many scripts were developed and sold in Java for the previous client—some have been available in the Script Store for over 5 years. Script writers are free to offer discounts on their new native client scripts if they so desire. This transition decision was made by the OSBot staff, not the individual script writers. If you recently purchased a script (within the last few weeks), feel free to contact us for a refund. Membership changes: The new native client will be available exclusively to VIP members for the foreseeable future. We will be phasing out the Sponsor and Lifetime Sponsor tiers. The current VIP category will be renamed to C++ VIP. All existing VIP members who wish to renew can do so at the same price, allowing your membership to continue seamlessly. You are free to opt out and cancel your OSBot membership at any time if you prefer. Lifetime perks were purchased for the lifetime of the original Stealth/Java product. As this is an entirely new client built from scratch, lifetime access does not transfer. All current Sponsors will receive 1 free month of VIP once the new client launches. Simply DM us after release to claim it. We appreciate your patience and support during this transition—it's a big step forward for OSBot. Thanks, - The OSBot Team 4 1
ProjectPact Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Amazing work team! So excited for the future on OSBot! 1
RuneStreak Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago This is exciting. Totally understandable that the entirely re-written scripts don’t carry over, nonetheless it would be nice if y’all implemented some kind of “vet” program incentivizing previous owners to repurchase equivalent scripts at a slight discount. OR even a limited sale upon release for OGs to repurchase scripts before the prices are eventually raised. I’m speaking entirely from the perspective of a user, but I think that this could definitely jump start sales. nonetheless for the past 11+ years, OSbot has always been a fantastic place to find some really high quality scripts at a significantly lower price then the competitors so I personally am sticking around and CAN’T WAIT to see what’s next for the platform 1

Trust me, we discussed several times over the past few months on what to do for discounts etc. I think it wouldn't be fair to give mass discounts on the hard work of the script writers without their approvals. They also won't be all released at once. This will be a process and I suppose we are going to have a low script SDN for a month or so.
Nate Thompson Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Hi team, I’ve been on OSBot for a long time and I’ve spent plenty here. I’ve always understood the risks that come with this space - bans, client changes, Jagex doing Jagex things. None of that is new or shocking to me. What does feel off is the order in which this transition is being handled. From a business standpoint, it feels like the customer is taking the hit first, with script writers right behind them, even though neither group made the decision to hard-reset the platform. I actually agree that script writers shouldn’t be forced to rewrite years of work for free. That wouldn’t be fair, and I don’t think that’s what anyone reasonable is asking for. But from the customer side, the outcome is still that scripts we already paid for are now unusable unless we buy them again - on top of moving to a mandatory subscription model and losing lifetime value altogether.. I think that’s where the disconnect is for me. It’s not that OSBot is moving to C++ - that makes sense given what Jagex just announced to accelerate their "anti-botting strategy". It’s that the practical effect of this change is that long-time users who knowingly supported the platform are effectively starting from zero, while the cost of the reset gets passed downstream. At the same time, script writers are now stuck in the middle rebuilding everything from scratch in a new language, while also dealing with understandable frustration from users who feel like their purchases just disappeared. That’s not a great position to put the people who actually create the value in the ecosystem. I’m not posting this angry, and I’m not pretending this situation is simple. I just think that if customer satisfaction is supposed to be a priority - especially for long-time users who accepted the risks and still invested - there should be more consideration than a very narrow refund window. This is one of those moments where how the transition is handled will matter more than the tech itself. People will remember whether it felt like they were brought along for the ride, or whether the platform simply reset and told everyone to catch up. I’m posting this in good faith because I want OSBot to succeed, and because I think getting the customer-developer balance right here is what determines whether this ecosystem actually recovers or just limps forward with a lot of burned trust.
HackersForHire1 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago To tell every osbot user that all your purchases are wiped is a huge kick in the teeth. To then announce that this decision has been thought of for months and this is the outcome is also extremely rude considering people were still purchasing scripts in this time frame un-aware that they may be lost soon Obvously its jagex's fault that this change has come so suddenly but its osbots fault for not upgrading their system sooner and now seemingly in a state of panic to get the client working again You now currently dont have a client at all, are requesting scripters to quickly update their scripts to the new system and then told all users to re-purchase everything aswell Seems a flawed approach to your loyal customer base imo
knuckles96 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Seems like a huge money scam imo. think people should go find a new client to run that isnt gunna do this. theres no reason Osbot cant give lifetime auths to people that had already spent hundreds of dollars on lifetime subs on scripts.
Hi grind99s Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Hello, greetings to everyone in this wonderful community and to all my fellow programmers. I believe the best solution is to create a channel where scripters can be paid for their hard work restructuring their scripts. This way, we won't have to cancel all the scripts again. It's a win-win situation; we'll all commit to paying for the work. With the new client, I'd like to see it set up as a monthly payment, as this would provide a consistent and fair income.
Kramnik Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago In terms of ETA, is there at least a rough estimate if its in days, weeks, months or 1+ year?

The initial release is planned for within the next couple of days-weeks. The client itself is done and some of the scripters have already converted their scripts to the new client. But we want to give all scripters a fair chance to convert their scripts before going public. 1
