Maybe if someone put out an official announcement and there was a clear line of communication we wouldn't have these threads - I don't blame these newbs more the admin team for the influx in these threads. A simple bot status page would be easy enough to create and simple enough to maintain - every Thursday it would automatically set the bot status to offline then once the client has been checked/updated a simple press of a button to set the status back to online. Who knows maybe there's even a way to automate it.4 points

Seriously, I'm not talking about ones that get out-dated by the OSBOT Updates. I'm talking about ones with 2-6 months worth of responses saying " Broken can you upload the source so we can fix? " or just straight up " Doesn't work " Some of the scripts straight up say " I'm no longer going to update or support this script " oh okay? then delete it freak its scuffed. If this forum has Moderators then it should be someones duty to be removing discontinued scripts from the SDN Because your wasting everybody's time. Solutions Have a button-type system in place where the public can press " Broken " and allow us to fill out the form with the option to PASTE what the TOGGLE LOGGER Console says ( error Debug ) This will then contact the developer via email and if it is not addressed within 1 week automatically assume the developer has quit and then delete it from the SDN Make moderators Monitor some kind of live feed that can see if the script is running or if it has not been activated within " last 31 days " then you could test the script to see if its broken and if so take it down manually. This would require some potentially tricky Web Development. Testing each script personally is to tedious of a task and not a reasonable option. -RANT2 points

Hello Osbot community ! I've played rs since 08 or so. My main is a 114 (which has been moved to RS3) I Quit at the EOC. I've played a little bit after that but mostly on private servers Botting Experience I botted on my main from like 94-99 str and had a small gold farm. Programming Experience I'm a senior computer engineering student and my interests include Machine learning/Web development/Competitive programming I've also done my fair share of java projects at uni I have made a few Os-bot scripts since I started playing 5 days ago. (using a proxy on a suicidal account) It's good to be back after like 5 years and It's cool to see that osbot has a pretty cool community... or so it seems1 point

I'll start off by saying I'm really new here ? So I use to code a lot probably close to 7 - 8 years ago, I still have a general grasp on things, but I didn't know anything in relation to osbot Last night I created something, there were errors right before the update. No issue there, I'll just start something simpler tomorrow and work my way up I thought to myself. Started on a script this morning, put a few hours into it without testing it. Then comes the time I test it. Frustration kicks it, I fix the code (Little did I know nothing was wrong with the code, It's Thursday) I try again.. Same thing, object errors, no interactions. I make the code more efficient, I make it longer, I make it shorter, I try everything that I could have.. I try a mining script that's on here. Same thing. I look at the forums.. I read that it's because of the Thursday update, I felt a little silly but also happy.. I'll be able to test my script once osbot is fully functional ? But this taught me a few things. 1. I can stretch and shrink the code as much as I want, it's still the same result. 2. Actually specify what you want your code to do.. Coding is a little like writing, you can only have something to work with once you actually start working..1 point

All direct external connections are blocked by OSBot look into REST APIs. Once your knowledge about them suffices, make a proper REST api .1 point

I would advise against sleeping during combat as you risk your character dying. Instead, use the onLoop to your advantage: NPC target; @Override public int onLoop() { if (target != null && target.exists()) { if (target.equals(myPlayer().getInteracting())) { // TODO nothing } else { // TODO attack if (target.interact("Attack")) { // TODO conditionally sleep until we've begun attacking target } } } else { target = npcs.closest("Goblin"); } } You can then add in other important things, such as health checker, loot checker, area checker, to make sure you can step away from combat to deal with more important things.1 point

Today is Thursday which means there has been a game update. This update schedule has remained the same way for over 5 years. Sometimes our auto-updater works, sometimes it doesn't. From now on whenever you have problems with the client on a Thursday, just be patient and try every few hours or so. Sometimes the update is automatic, sometimes it takes us a little bit of work, sometimes it takes us a lot of work.1 point

Haven't used this script in a while but, it doesn't appear to be working at barb village. Mouse hovers over the fishing spot and sits there. Bob Bot looked at the ripped blade in his hands and felt stressed. He walked over to the window and reflected on his derelict surroundings. He had always loved idyllic Runescape with its tired, tense Trees. It was a place that encouraged his tendency to feel stressed. Then he saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was the figure of Jagex . Jagex was a spiteful bear with wobbly eyelashes and chubby fingers. Bob gulped. He glanced at his own reflection. He was a cowardly, daring, brandy drinker with chubby eyelashes and dirty fingers. His friends saw him as an aggressive, annoying animal. Once, he had even helped a sleepy old man cross the road. But not even a cowardly person who had once helped a sleepy old man cross the road, was prepared for what Jagex had in store today. The drizzle rained like swimming mice, making Bob sparkly. As Bob stepped outside and Jagex came closer, he could see the fancy smile on his face. Jagex glared with all the wrath of 7668 intelligent black blue bottles. He said, in hushed tones, "I hate you and I want To Ban." Bob looked back, even more sparkly and still fingering the ripped blade. "Jagex, you are Banned," he replied. They looked at each other with sad feelings, like two glorious, good guppies talking at a very selfish disco, which had trance music playing in the background and two grateful uncles sleeping to the beat. Bob studied Jagex's wobbly eyelashes and chubby fingers. Eventually, he took a deep breath. "I'm sorry," began Bob in apologetic tones, "but I don't feel the same way, and I never will. I just don't hate you Jagex." Jagex looked afraid, his emotions raw like a bewildered, boiling banana. Bob could actually hear Jagex's emotions shatter into 9296 pieces. Then the spiteful bear hurried away into the distance. Not even a glass of brandy would calm Bob's nerves tonight. THE END1 point

It's all the same, however all bans are reviewed manually mid-week, however the "ban rate" is the same on all days. If you check your woodcutting exp while fishing on a Saturday its a less ban rate.1 point
