Jagex stated that they will be removing duel arena. They also stated that it will be replaced by something else so it would probably take them 5 years to do it  

Anyway just want to hear your thoughts what will happen to gold prices. I think it could go both ways or don't have any impact at all since a lot of people buy huge amounts of gold to gamble in duel arena, but also a lot of people sell the gold they won/lured through duel arena.

They only mentioned in couple sentences in live or smth, saw it on reddit. No concrete plans yet it seems

its been impossible to get legit stakes in there for years. Just a good thing to remove it. 

I feel like gambling is always gonna find its way in the game, duel arena or not

worst thing that could happen to osrs. If people want to lose their whole bank it should be allowed. If they get scammed that's on them. The DA teaches people how to not be idiots and if they are, they deserved it because they didn't use their brain. It's simple survival of the fittest. I'm all for eliminating the weak. If you don't like the DA just don't use it easy as that. 

The duel arena has no place in Runescape anymore. Years ago before GP become worth a lot of actual money, perhaps it was acceptable. But such modern day gambling is not what Runescape is about at all. The fact people have gambled over $10,000 at one time there is obscene… it’s also FULL of none Runescape players trying to scam other players for personal gain! It is also almost certain a few suicides have come from it. Get out, goodbye, good riddance!

They are a little late to be removing it. Probably be a toss up what happens to gold prices then.

Hasn't gold prices been dropping for years? I swear you could get like $1/'mil like 5 years+ ago...

I think it's for the best due to RWT and gambling, hopefully it keeps the kids in school :D.
