Granting sponsors this ability will also give them access to unlock their threads. We don't want that. I have been searching for a hook to patch this, but havn't found one yet, unfortunately.

It would help if you can describe your website some more. For example, estimated amount of visitors, what will the website contain/run, etc.. It is not only the webhosting itself you need to look at, but also their packages.

@@Sherlock Hmm, according to this section in the official Rules for OSbot... 12. Market It is not allowed to tear apart a market thread. If someone wants to sell an account for $50, then it is not needed to post things like 'too expensive, wouldn't even buy for $20'. It is rude and unwanted. If you're not interested, then simply don't reply. To me it sounds like we wouldn't be allowed to argue in a thread about a price or the account in the market section, why tell members to go ahead and do it?? You are allowed to argue in a market thread, as long as the price you give is realistic. Nonsense bids and commentary are not allowed.

As Kati said, this is technically not possible (unless I write a plugin for this, and change a lot of the current moderator API). I don't really see a reason to do so though. As said by several people, trial moderators would do everything to look good, but when they have the promotion in their pocket, they will change. This will only cause more issues. Moderators are picked carefully and are screened by me before any promotion takes place. I also do a few tests with them, without them knowing I am testing their moderator capabilities. I can promise that I take promotions really serious, and I really believe in the moderators we pick. There will always be complains towards moderators, those turns out false most of the times, luckily. People will always complain when they receive a infraction, it is the same as hating the police just because you received a fine, which was in your eyes unnecessary, although you know that you were misbehaving.

Spreading the URL to members through a PM is advertising. All of the OSBot rules stated here, counts for the whole website, so for private messages as well. You aren't banned from the chatbox because you wanted to play poker, you are banned because you kept advertising your poker site after various warnings given to you by other staff members. If you are right and really got misinformed about this, then I will remove your PM & chat ban, otherwise it will stay for two more days.
