 Nope, range anything, doesn't matter with cannons, higher attack bonus the cannon will hit less 0's

Use Precise cows with food support.

It's working fine for me.

In the latest Runescape myth busters, the devs/mods confirmed the cannon works with range bonus.

The higher your range bonus is, the better the hits and the better the accuracy =)

 

They didn't say anything about wielding a melee wepeon to gain better accuracy bonus ... So can't tell you something about that

That is the stupidest thing I have ever read. Attack and Ranged has no correlation. Like what? Ranged utilizing a combat melee stat? It doesn't make any sense. Ranged gear only adds bonus to its range bonus and damage. A bow would make more sense.

Damage and AccuracyEdit

The cannon has a max hit of 30, regardless of the player's Ranged level.

The accuracy however, is affected by your attack bonus.
