What you're trying to say that a melee weapon(stab, slash and crush) calculates into ranged. The wiki meant range value within the attack bonus, not all of the values for the styles. So maybe it is, maybe it isn't Only thing I know for sure is that the cannon is affected by range bonus, if you got +0 range the cannon barely hit.
