I looked around a bit, NewEgg has some pretty good deals right now, I would've gave you some links but I don't know what exact specs you're looking for and your price range so yeah just check that out.

November 22, 20178 yr Surface Pro is very, very good. Make sure to get the 8GB ram version though. Surface pro 3 will be sufficient.
November 22, 20178 yr definitely check for laptops with 8th generation intel cpu's, they're the newest laptop cpu's from intel and you get a quad core instead of a 7th gen dual core for the same price. Edited November 22, 20178 yr by Rudie

This would be much easier if you also let it know what she might be needing it for. Light browsing? Text editing? 3D rendering? Simulation? This woman could be an aronautical engineer for all I know. I've got some time to kill and browse today if I know what I'm looking for, fren.
