September 14, 20178 yr SO if you happened to catch the stream the other day they said they are implementing some new reworks and updates to there bot systems this friday. Has anyone heard of what to expect?
September 14, 20178 yr Thanks for the info. Please post the video & timestamp. Unless you work at Jagex, the info in the video is probably all we know.
September 14, 20178 yr mwaa. many people on multiple forums have been noticing that they have started to ban less the past weeks They might do a lot of bans on friday just to give the impression to legit players that they actually are in control
September 14, 20178 yr didnt they say something like looking into changing content to stop bots? Like adding quest reqs to random things so @Token gets to sell his quester more often Edited September 14, 20178 yr by ez11
September 14, 20178 yr Jagex is just bs'ing like always. Ban rates have been the same for 1.5 years now with nothing changing.
September 14, 20178 yr They know that if they ban all the bots, they would lose lots of players, damage the economy, and lose out on huge profit margins from membership I think they definitely have the resources to know pretty consistently who does and doesn't bot, they just selectively ban people to make the more dedicated players feel better! Edit: I think in the end it is a compromise - if they ban too many botters, they risk damaging the game. If they ban too few, they risk damaging the game Edited September 14, 20178 yr by Apaec

With a big majority of players focusing either on pvp/slayer content if someone is forced to fish his own sharks or similar tasks just to be able to do what they want then many players will slowly stop playing.
September 14, 20178 yr No matter how many people say they hate bots, they still use the convenience that it gives them to buy what supplies they need. They have grown dependent it's a like a commensalism type of relationship.
September 14, 20178 yr Author Well then lets just hope they're blowing their usual smoke up our asses lol. I guess will find out tomorrow, cross your fingers guys.
September 15, 20178 yr I make some stress testing, they updated their detection system a bit but only in f2p. P2p isn't updated yet! Bots which run through tutorial island will get banned faster. IP's get flagged faster! They added much more datacenter IP's to the detection Residantial IP's are fine for now I do some more test's will update if i got more results. September 15, 20178 yr They wont update p2p in my opinion, they ban f2p players mainly because they know that the p2p Bots have of course paid to become a members account meaning they get money for it, there are a lot of bots that are p2p as well and like previous people have said bots contribute to the economy of RS massively so an increase of bans on p2p would damage that
