Laptop heating

Featured Replies

Yeah, I seriously have no idea what I was thinking when I got an HP laptop. My old laptop was an HP and died from overheating :/ The one I'm using right now is a usb fan, its fairly old though with some dust build up, so I might get a new one

you have to get rid of the dust, it's very bad for your laptop, if it spreads from the fan(sounds like a decease >.>) it can even short out certain parts in your laptop. that happened to my bro a while back

Oh, and it turns out the recommended temperature is a bit lower than I thought, only 105 degrees

that might be the max, but if its pushing 90's you'll shorten the lifespan of the CPU bigtime.

I have the same problem with just being on the computer (also HP) it gets very hot too.

What I do is put ice on it but thats not the solution. You can try to take breaks (if you arent already) and purchase a cool pad.

i am the @Solution though :D

I run 10 bots on macbook pro and its not even warm. Try closing any internet tabs or stuff. Also have multiple clients with maybe 2 bots on each, that helps me.

Are you using low cpu though?

Yeah.

I have an ACER laptop, at first it was a great laptop no problems and never over-heated.

Now, after about 20 minutes of it being on, it'll start getting VERY loud and over-heating if I don't do something about it, it'll shut down.

I have to use a laptop cooling fan, it's only £1.00 from the Pound Shop over here haha! Just a plastic sheet with half an inch long legs in all 4 courners of it, with a fan underneath it. It plugs into the USB port, and it works wonders!

lol the laptop is about 5years old. works like a charm. never over-heating, always fast. can run 4+ bots without lag. can play almost every game.

Buy a fan, thats what i do...

i have a usb fan but it sucks, then u guys should buy a fan like me and put next to it, it never gets overheating no matter what i use :)

I would if I was you, works like a treat!

OSBot uses a lot of CPU even when it is on the setting low. I'm on a mac btw :P

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Cpu's can take a lot of heat but when they are hot they run a bit sluggish. I would definitely recommend a cooling stand or even just prop the back of it up with a book or something to let it get air to the vent underneath. Always have the laptop lid open as it can actually melt your screen. I hope this helped a little.
