Help building a PC

Featured Replies

Alright guys, serious question time.... Im not too computer savvy, but want to build a pretty nice gaming PC for around $700-800. I pretty much play WoW and some FPS's on it, so if anyone could give me tips on what parts to look at I would be very appreciative.

WoW is very CPU intensive + some FPS's if that includes CSGO then you should get a good CPU. Honestly an i7-3770k will be sufficient but if you can get better then your performance will increase. I also recommend a gpu that is an r9 280x or better(if amd) or Nvidia power equivalent.(probably GTX 960 or GTX 970. I would get an SSD if you want loading to be faster, for example in WoW loading screens will be shorter and your computer will load everything downloaded faster. 2 TB should be sufficient. Ram get 8gb. Power Supply: make sure it is good. Look at reviews and dont cheap out or else it can be the death of your system. Case just get what fits your budget/looks good.

An i7 3770k and GTX 960 for less than $700?

The i7 alone is around $420.

I run an i7 3700k with a Nvidia GeForce 770 and my build was around £1.1k. This includes everything though, including 2 32 inch HD Monitors :P

Either Way, OP - You'd be wanting to up your budget for a high end gaming PC that can play WoW perfectly :P

Yeah I wasnt really going for price I was just going for performance. An i5 is much cheaper then an i7 and should perform just as good at WoW + FPS's. Just get one with 4.0ghz+ Get a good GFX card. Look up benchmarks for WoW + csgo etc to see which performance you can live with for your budget.

i5 4670k

gtx 760,770,780,790 or amd radeon 290x

Ahh my apologies :P IMO it's best to just invest, A good computer will last you a good few years and once you've built one once, you should be able to upgrade it/build others and save a lot :o

BEFORE YOU BUY ANYTHING: make sure you plan out your build.

Use: www.pcpartpicker.com

any i5 will do you good. Do not get the K models if you are not overclocking.

Part sellers: Amazon, Newegg, or any similar retailers available to you.

look into the AMD 390's for GPU or any respectable NVidia card such as the 970 and below for your needs.

If you need help building when the time comes I will be available biggrin.png
