What will happen to osbot?

After the news of Jagex about its actions towards third-party clients, it is assumed that customers like Osbot will also be influenced, has anything been said about this? I do not get a thread of this information.

I think the thing about copyright for RuneLite is the 'Rune' in it's name.

Or am I missing something? I know they already successfully taken down (or at least sites changed their names) sites that had "RS" in it as Jagex claimed copyright for the name 'RuneScape'.

Pretty sure the copyright was the code of RS, i guess the API

The problem is jagex doesnt actually have a reason to take down runelite. If you watch a friends video he points out a conspiracy that jagex gets a cut from osbuddy. As soon as a free option comes out that the public can provide plugins for and is 100x better than osbuddy jagex feels the need to take it down. They couldnt give a real reason to take it down so they went to the copyright claim. Im happy that runelite took a stand and said they will take out the copyright but if they want it fully removed then all other clients must be removed too.

Wouldnt a PAID third party client be more concerning than a free one? Also their argument that "the source code helps botters" Like wtf were already here and running so what kinda shit is that lmao.

I was reading and one of the complaints from the developers of Jagex is that third-party customers earn money just like them, and it seems unfair that they earn the same or even more.

i too feel like they get a cut from osbuddy. I think jacmob or whatever is one of the developers of osbuddy and also works for Jagex.

This is a thing that's wrong with the world from what I see over and over.

People are more concerned about how much others are making than anything else - even when it has nothing to do with them or their money. People just don't like the thought of seeing someone else do less work than them (from what they perceive) and earn around the same, if not more. It's really a stupid thing. If everyone worries about their own self and stop thinking about others then imagine what they would accomplish.

I do understand that the client gives some advantages opposed to the official RS client, but money definitely has something to do with this as it's only really becoming an issue since people who used to pay for OSB pro are now using RuneLite for free.

They get donations. Some people figure if I save $5 I'll give you that $5 or less.

Bots have been around since 2002 for runescape, they've never shut down one completely. Clearly they won't do anything about bots, only helper clients which they aren't profiting from. All runelite has to do is make a "pro" version for 5.00 and give jagex a % and they will let them stay.
