i hear eclipse and visual studio are good?

visual studio is amazing, but for java? what? i've heard that it was a new feature at some point but do people use it?

NetBeans is nice.

As Khaleesi said, it doesn't really matter what IDE you pick because it doesn't improve much. 

I personally use Eclipse and Intellij (on and off). If you're a new comer, I'd suggest intellij since the UI is more user friendly and can be less confusing than intellij. 

Just pick a suitable IDE that you like because it all comes down to personal preference. The commonly known IDE's for Java is Intellij, Eclipse and Netbeans.

Do you have any objective specific reasons that make it better than Eclipse? I was told they were both good. I choose eclipse but would be willing to change if there are actual reasons to. Or is this a "it's the one I use so it must be better" situation?
