Saiyan Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 shall i major in psychology i wanna be a therapist nd work in los angeles (im being 100% serious)
Sunna Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 i wonder if therapists cud give themselves counselling 1
Panda Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Personally, I would say no. Unless, you want to go into the medical field, I wouldn't recommend doing Psychology. This is due to the decline in that field (at least in the Dallas Metroplex). Nonetheless, I would recommend doing a dual major/minor in Pysch.
Juggles Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Honestly a lot of people major in psychology and then are left without a job or end up being a psychology teacher. 1
Marinernation Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 i would add it as a minor, unless you have the passion to teach. then do masters in psych. job outlook isnt great as just a major
Mister Slyther Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Go into something that you're interesting in doing and you love learning about it everyday. 1
noidlox_ban_9 Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Go into something that you actually like doing. And yes I'm being serious. If you truly love your job, the money will come.
Viston Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 (edited) I always kept this in mind. If I enjoy doing it -> I can get a job. Since if you master something > More job potential. Same goes for programming I think. If you learn programming yet don't enjoy it, you can't master it. Edited June 22, 2017 by Visty
IDontEB Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 You'll be jobless with a psychology degree, if you dont care about that then yeah take it. Otherwise, a degree is only worth getting if its in STEM fields since those actually open doors to more jobs
