A video series would be awesome. I mean you know you're getting high quality when botre is involved :)

And i'm sure you'll agree that scripting provides a great entrance to programming in general, and certainly provides some incentive

I have been looking into starting for ages I just don't know where to start as there is so much to learn. This would help so much

This sounds like a great idea. You should record your lessons so that others can watch the videos after. 

Maybe also assign people basic problems or to create snippets to help enforce what they have learned.
