Depends what kind of pressups you do.
If you want to look big, weight training is your best bet, unless you're careful with how you do your exercises. Pressups are a very good exercise to as they use a range of muscles (core, back, arms... etc)
I'd recommend instead of doing 100 flat pressups, do a range of different excersises. Mix in some tricep pressups (normal pressup but with ur elbows flush with your body - these are good because they focus triceps much more). Also, diamond pressups are good for back and even use a little bit of chest. (put ur hands in diamond shape (basically next to eachother) on the floor). Then maybe if you want to get some good core, leg raises are good (esp for lower core). if you can, try doing some V-ups or vertical leg raises if you have a bar.
You want to get to the stage where you can't do any more of an excersise, or hit your incremental goal
When I started, I focussed on tricep pushups. I could only do about 20 or so in one go and then I would collapse. Since then, i've done lots of weight training and daily pressups and handstand pressups (learning the balance was good fun too ), and now I can do 130 orso.
Also, if you've got insane core and back, you can try planche pushups. While i'm still trying to learn to do a full planche (can do bent arm full planche, and bent leg planche, but can't quite do the full planche). These are amazing because they use almost every muscle in your body lol.
