  10. Ive already made a thread about this, but Im still skeptical about taking Computer Science as a major. Im wrapping up HS and Im contemplating what to do thereafter. Im currently taking AP CS at my school and I find it fun as hell. I always liked computers, and I've been messing around with them for such a longgggg time. My CS teacher brags about how much a CS degree is worth, and I'm doing it both for the money and for the passion. My GPA was a piece of shit in HS so Im going to community college for a year then transferring over to a 4- year institution. My real question is: Anyone major in CS got any tips? regret/like your decision? Could of improved in something? Possibilities/Extras that might awaken? Minor? Anything helps, thanks

Please don't take freshman year lightly. Its one of the easiest years, and one of the best ways to start on the right track to a outstanding GPA. I fucked around my freshman and got a 2.0. I got a 3.0 as a soph, and I finally realized that life was ahead of me and finally got a 4.1 junior year and a 4.0 senior year. Finally graduated with a 3.2 3.3ish. I regret it so much, I couldn't get into my dream school b/c of the stupid crap that I did and don't even remember anyone by the time I graduate this summer. Khan academy works, (recommend 100%) and all I can say to you is your either: book smart & gifted, or you one of those people who really need to try. Don't over do it and end up losing sleep. Keep trying and trying, and trust me you'll get it. Do examples that aren't assigned to you. Hire a tutor. Ask you teachers/classmates ect. There are so many ways you can succeed. Good luck in HS buddy
