OSRS will receive bot system upgrade

Featured Replies

In one of their previous streams on Twitch, I don't remember which one it was, but Mod Ash mentioned that they're prioritizing to upgrade and better their bot detection system during summer.

Any speculations of what they might improve. Less manual bans and more automated ones? Detect mirror clients?

All I get hit by is automated bans. But they will always improve, and then osbot will improve more, and then gg jagex... they can't stop it!

Optimizations to their automated segment, fix their formula to be more aligned to the more recent data they've collected. Less humans, less time spent on bots and generally more issues with false banning.

In short; automation improvements. You might be spot on.

Every single on in the past 4-5 months tbh.

Going to be interesting, probably going to see a ban spike for a couple of weeks, then we recover. That's how it always works and has worked tbh.

It's probably going to be improvements to false bans (well, the prevention of them) and maybe some slight improvements to detection. Not too scurred.

If they would bann every bot they basicly killing their own game ... Bots are the main income of runescape.

That's not true. Bots only account 10% of the player base and most of them aren't members.

10% is already pretty much. but i think its more like 25-40%. but just what i think, no one got the real data :p

i wouldn't say it's the 'main income' but they do stabilise the economy to a significant degree etc and ofc bond usage etc.

jagex makes 90% of their money from selling exp, gold and random cosmetics to 10 year olds on rs3

they dont care enough to actually get enough people to stop bots but the few people they have actually try something but in the end its not gonna matter. atleast they have a pretty safe job since there will always be bots doge.png
