The Great Transition Forward - OSBot 2

I think the 30 day trial is stupid.. I pay $13 for a script and now I have to buy it again..? I bought it like.. a week ago...

Same problem here, I've just PM'd the administrator.

You won't have to re-purchase. You'll have to pay the renewal fee which are going to be mandatory for all osb2 scripts.

I'm gonna have to pay renewals on all my premium scripts, every month, even if I've already bought them for LIFETIME?

Absolute bullshit.

No, you'll pay for a renewal on an entirely new script if you want to use the OSBot 2 version, or you can continue using the OSBot 1 equivalents until support is dropped.

So much drama but i think both sides have valid arguments. A compromise will have to be found imo.

But once again: Will scripters be penalized if they don't update their scripts? I don't have the time right now to do such thing ( great release date on this btw... in the middle of exams for 3/4 of the community -.-)

See the problem is that I paid for a lifetime script. Not a month and a half script.

Did you really expect OSBot to last for your entire life? OSBot 1 client will remain functional for several months, during this time you can bot all you want with your OSBot 1 scripts.

Ye, u paid for a lifetime of OSBot 1 and that's what you'll get. Just be glad that you're not having to pay the initial fee as well like many of the scripters here are proposing.

I guess the lifetime (support time) of the script ends in 2 weeks, sorry :/

No I wont be able to bot all I want with OSBot 1 scripts because there will be runescape updates that will break the script and the developer of the script wont fix it for OSBot 1 because it will not be for sale anymore.

What's your solution then? :)

..well shit

I thought the purpose of the emulator was so OSBot 1 scripts would still work?

Why are you forcing OSBot 1 scripts to not be sold anymore?

Counter logic.

I hope you enjoy having 3 scripts on the SDN.

Will your script still work? =/ im using it to get 99

You mean the same script, converted over to OSBot 2's API?

We have to pay for you scripters to convert your scripts basically, something which should be mandatory. Money hungry scripters are such a joke all over this thread, heaven forbid you update your scripts without being paid (not directed @ you @Eliot).

It's even worse than that, we're not just paying a small one time fee for you guys to convert you script, we're then paying MONTHLY.

So for months I'll be paying renewal fee's for the few hours (days at most) you spent converting your script, keep in mind that I've already purchased the exact same script and they perform the same tasks as on both 1 and 2.  Consumers are being punished if they want to use OSBot 2 -this is just wrong and unfair.

In essence the OSBot 2 client isn't free, we have to pay renewals to use our already-bought one time fee premium scripts.

Of course all scripters on here are going to scream it's a great thing, meh I don't blame them.

What's your solution then? smile.png

If the developer of the OSBot 1 scripts wants to continue selling that script, he will have to give the people who already own the OSBot 1 script full access to the OSBot 2 script for as long as he keeps updating it. If he doesn't want to give it to the people who already purchased the lifetime script, he is not allowed to sell the OSBot 2 version of the script. If there is a rule where all scripts must be monthly then we will be grandfathered into that rule, where we can keep the script indefinitely.

So you expect the provider of a script to update / rewrite its product into a brand new one and then give it away for free to the people who bought the initial product it was based upon?

Who is going to pay for that dev time then? The revenue from new users won't do considering the stream of those is too small.

Yes I expect the provider of a script to update a script and give it away to the users who already payed the fee, I don't know where you get the word free from. The lifetime fee includes updates, and this is just another major update. If you don't think you will earn enough revenue from new users, then don't update the script. Very simple IMO.
