The Future of OSBot (Serious Thread)

Featured Replies

As of now, OSBot is the biggest and most popular Old School bot. But from the way it looks now, it won't be in a few months. Soon other botting sites will start to become more popular and OSBot will start to decline. Here are some improvements that I, and hopefully many others, think is necessary if OSBot wants to remain the #1 Old School bot:

Admins:

There are 40k registered members, and 4 admins. And only one of those is active on the forums, who is Raflesia (doing a great job btw). For that many members there needs to be a whole lot more Admins. Poor Raflesia has to do all the work :(. As for Maxi, Laz, and Zach, I know you are developing the bot which I will get into later.

OSBot Client Development:

A lot of us are paying members, and we expect to get what we paid for. As far as I'm concerned there are only 3 people working on the client (may be more). No wonder it takes way too long for things to get updated. There NEEDS to be more people working on the client! I cannot understand how this bot isn't completely flawless yet, well considering it has barely changed in a month. And Maxi hasn't even been on since August 22nd...and I see a lot of people saying how life comes before RuneScape, but no, OSBot is a business, they make money, it isn't just some fun thing. I've heard some rumors about a car accident or something, and of course then I can understand why Maxi has been gone. But really, there are tons of talented programmers here, OSBot needs more developers.

Randoms:

Ok, randoms are part of the trickiest things about botting. I can understand that it must be very hard to make bots have random support, but cmon, frog cave hasn't been fixed for nearly two months, and its only a 3 second conversation and then the random is done. Its these types of smallish things that will make OSBot decline, just like Jagex did to RuneScape. I've read that other bots already have full random support. I personally think randoms should be top priority, and not OSBot 2, its annoying to always have to find your bots stuck in a random.

So basically that sums up what I wanted to say...and althouh it may not seem that way now, other bots will soon beat OSBot. So please try and ya know, maybe work more on it or hire more people. This is not a hate thread, so please don't lock it. This took me a while to write on my phone :P. Please like this thread to show support!

dont mean to sound mean but

Theres probably like 10k users that just come to osbot for the bot they probably wont put any money towards osbot.

Whats the point of even having them? Im sure if osbot became $1 if you just want to bot one acc they would get a lot more sales.

Support the thread though

Osbot 2 is reason to give excuses for lack of development on Osbot 1.

Only reason I'm still here is because all my scripts I use, I made with osbot api so it would be a bitch to switch.

But something needs to happen, some scripts have been waiting for the SDN and stuff for ages.

Support!

The problem is also that it seems like the admins dont care. Whenever I send Zach a PM he just ignores it and leaves rather than taking 30 seconds of his life to reply to it. How are they going to keep scripters/other menbers when they can't even treat them properly

I hope I am not alone when saying this but, I need a bot in order to support OSbot. I personally have no outside source of income and without gold farming I can't get money (unless playing legit, but then why would I support a bot?). I agree they would have more sales, but the community would probably be less active and not have some of the great members that I have come across so far.

Anyways I support OP

I already made the transition to the competitor. It's been 20 days since randoms broke due to a RS update and they still haven't been fixed. No point in paying to use a client that isn't updated and doesn't even work properly when there is a better & cheaper alternative.

frog randoms been working for me the last 2 months?

whats wrong with u

lol kina support. not supporting everything though.

as for the developers, 3 people is normal.

there could be 1more active admin on the forums, to help raf keep the forums clear.

Four admins are enough especially when three out of four are developers. @Raflesia is by himself but he does have the supers and global mods beside him. Think of him as their leader.

I do agree with one of your arguments though. This whole situation seems to be caused by the main OSBot devs and it would be nice if they interacted with the community more and provide quality customer service.

When i first joined OSBot, i was shocked as to how fast the admins would fix issues. Something would break and within an hour there would be an update. This alone gave me full confidence in the client, knowing there's always going to be a fix regardless of the issue.

It seems lately the admins have been idle in terms of repairing the bot, although granted they have "in real life" things to do, but this is a business. If you want people to pay a recurring fee to use your service, you're expected to keep that service running and up to date. Otherwise your customers will start losing confidence in your product and move on to a more working system. As there's a lot of competition in this region, it should be OSBot's priority to keep the customer base happy.

Regarding OSBot2, the admins could be more transparent as to the progression of the new client.

Given all this, i still give OSBot my full support and i'll continue to pay for this service in the hope things will improve within time.

Um support but not everything... I think 3 developers is enough. But Raflesia needs some help... xD

Well something that also makes the site more then anything is the lack of free stable bots I know every scripter wants to make a little money for his or her hard work but the reason like p****bot because so popular because 90 percent of thier bots were free and stable other sites are going to see hey everyone is charging for thier bots lets make ours free and we will get all the people and most of the time it will work,

Agree.

If Raflesia had full admin position a lot of issues could be sorted within a matter of hours, rather than days.

The whole banking situation took too long to sort out, I noticed ATLEAST 2 Developers online in the period when the bot was messing up with the banking system after the update and yet they didn't even make a thread saying they're working on it or pop into the chat to just tell everyone it'll be fixed shortly...

At the moment it seems as if the Developers don't care, Raf puts a lot of effort into this but it's too much for one guy to handle I do believe we need either Smart or Cata to be promoted to Admin with Raf, then send a global mod up to Super and then recruit another Global (with BETTER TIMEZONES!)

tl;dr

Devs need to put more effort into showing they care, get more help for raf.

Promoting others to admin wouldn't help anyone. I mean, what can Raf do the supers can't?
