Tupac = Overrated

Featured Replies

Know I'm gonna get flamed for this but I strongly believe that his death was the greatest thing that happened to his music..
I think he was real and not a sell out, but I don't think he was the #1 lyricist like many claim.
His legend is now being pimped by suburban kids that really do not know much about rap in general. Just that "0mg TUpAc and Em are da best!"

Don't get me wrong I listen to tupac and have his albums but I still won't refer him as THE BEST EVER.
To sum it all up.. Best of his Era(90's) yes, best ever no..

Give me your best arguments. Chance are I will not be persuaded but I'm open minded so present your arguments and lets see :D

agreed I like Em, I've actually not listened to much of Tupacs music, I'm not into your typical 'look how many guns I shoot & hoes I slap' I'm more into rap with meaning, Witch Em gives a lot of with that gangster twist.

The best Example of the music I like are Artists such as Knowmads, For those who know them, Tom Pepe is a very inspirational guy, Youtube them :)

my fav is wu tang clan and all of their solo acts....but im sorry but tupac is prob the realest rapper lol can't really compare em to pac on that lvl em is better at putting words together tho

I don't really care about rappers. In my opinion let Tupac be overrated, as he is dead. In matter of ten years he will not be so overrated, because he isn't alive. Same goes with Michael Jackson.

I've never listened to a Tupac song, but I LOVE Eminem, I'm not the type of guy that likes to hear rappers talking about "guns" and "hoes" etc, etc...

To me its a lot about how much I can relate to someones music. Tupac is from a different culture then I am so I can't bob my head to ghetto gospel.
As far as best lyrically I have to say Eminem.. He's not my favorite rapper by far but lyrically the dude is a damn genius.

Check out my other thread on the 3 rappers that I feel like are criminally underrated right now.

I love the way his songs emotionally change up to his death.

First it was "yo Bach, dis my hood shit yo". But towards the end his real feelings started coming out.

That's why I like his music.

Honestly i think rappers and rapping in general is overrated. It seems like they all rap about like drugs and violence. I never really got why people like rap so much. You guys will probably disagree with me because a lot of people here do drugs :(

Honestly bro that's the beauty of rap. There are so many rappers that are so anti drug/alcohol. And there are some that only rap about drugs and alcohol

This is for you. just focus on the rhyming and how much skill that shit takes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRVOOwFNp5U

Seriously listen lol it will change your mind on Rap.

When I say the word "fun", what do you envision?

Probably drinking and smoking out with your crew

And chilling with clueless women you trying to bang, bumping New Edition

Is that all you think life really is

Well if so, then you're a fucking idiot

So, whos the best according to you?

GO

Best of his era (90's) yeah alright. Best ever? he's up there and yeah id argue his the best.

But the 90s was by far the golden era for rap lol. nothing since then has compared

Depends what rap you listen to. yeah alot is about rap and violence, and SOME is political, has a messege, inspires you, lifts you up, and makes you think. Not all rap is pointless like "shake that ass, get drunk ,fuck bitches, smoke weed and shoot a ********a" lmfao

I walked past a couple of kids few days ago in a Tupic Tshirt, one was like "Oh my god tupac!" I just replied like *palm* yeah....

T-shirt only cost me like £5 but that kids face was funny. May try it with a spongebob one next.
