Account Merchant Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 I want to preface this: I am not a phisher, and have no plans to. I am just curious about the legal aspect. so, phishing is obviously illegal, but I recently read somewhere that this only applies to bank account theft, and identify theft. Is runescape account phishing illegal? If so, can you point me towards something I can read about it? If not, how would you argue it is not illegal?

Eagle Scripts Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 I've read an article in which somebody got imprisoned for phising RS accounts.
jca Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 (edited) I guess it would depend in each situation. Installing a keylogger on someones computer would be different to getting their login details with a form on a website. Either way it’s a dumb thing to do. Edited October 29, 2018 by jca
THS Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 Friends did it years ago. Never got caught. Mostly cause people who get caught by phish links let alone rats have no idea what the problem would be. Hurr durr I got hacked wtf!?!?!

ez11 Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 technically "hacking" aka just logging into an email account of a guy who accidentally shows his login details could already be illegal.
