Osrs dying?

Featured Replies

Think we're all getting older and making some future plans, For some people those future plans do not included playing Runescape. Further more there are so much other games to play and I think younger people (12-18 years old) are more for the other games then playing some oldschool Runescape. (League of Legends is growing very fast as for example).

I remember my first time online on Runescape it was such a great time back then (2007). But as noticed above, New games are taking over and Runescape isn't that populair anymore as it was in the good old days.

Two things.

1. The population of the OSRS community is growing, you can up it up. You are basing your findings off of logging into a world for what, an hour?

2. I believe and this is my opinion, that degradable's are a good thing. as there is both pros an cons to degradable. Degradable's offer the growing community 2 things.

  • Diversification:  new Pking armor, new bossing armor. Verity essentially.
  • Gold-sink: Jagex is listening to us. They understand that high-alch is forever inflating gold, so Jagex is introducing this brand new gold-sink for us gold sellers benefit.

Of course there are potential cons to degradable's as well.. such as does this open the doors to summoning and that other rs3 content. There will always be change, new best in slot weapons ect.

Hopefully Jamflex keeps updating OSRS in a way to keep it sustainable, not only from a player base perspective, but also for us, the gold-farmers ;)

EDIT: Go vote YES for the degradable gold sink. It helps keep prices of gold HIGHER which clearly benefits everyone on this community should they decide to sell gold.

If WoW classic is any good, that's going to be another hit to the OSRS playerbase. It targets the same nostalgia-seeking crowd.

What do you mean "if"? It will be amazing.

Blizzard has botched up some of their games before. If they don't mess it up, classic WoW will 100% be a hit.

Jagex botched RS but OSRS was a hit, if history repeats itself, we should be fine!

Yeah. I wonder what things they'll keep the same and what things they'll change. There are some welcome improvements that were made in the later WoW expansions.

  • 4 weeks later...

Maybe slightly, but it's hardly anywhere close to dead. OS Mobile is going to get a huge boost for a couple of months, kind of like Pokemon Go.
