It's cherry mx speed switches and this is the first mechanical one i've ever had so i've never used the other switches but 

as far as im concerned, it's 1.2mm actuation so not even a half press on a key is reequired to activate it.

They sound similar to the reds but people say they're a bit louder

yeah my razer keyboards made hella noise too

my current one (in first post) has white switches, so it's a bit quieter

also i have same mousepad as you
