Botting Rig Help

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Hi there dudes,

I'm currently using a Macbook Pro early 2013 with Windows 10 bootcamp to bot (noob,i know),
plus a decent VPS for my bot farm.

I'm keen on buying a PC which will
-Run 6 bots maximum without any hassle.
-I DO NOT game at all, so just require it for botting runescape only.
-It will eventually be used as a simple home computer to skype and what not, by my parents.

my budget is 400 USD with a max of 500 USD.

Please give recommendations,
again, I do not need a fancy one, just to bot 4-6 bots at a time, that's pretty much it.

Thanks and Cheers!

Also, the above budget is strictly for CPU, minus Screen and other hardware.

You can build yourself a decent pc for around that, better than you can buy prebuilt probably.

If you choose to go AMD id suggest a 4.0GHz 8-Core FX-8350 cpu for around $150 USD (i run 4 bots, 1 osbuddy account, youtube and other things in the background and has around a 90% CPU usage)

If you choose to go Intel id suggest a 3.7GHz i5 6500 cpu for around $200 USD

Since you aren't gaming GHz and core count is pretty important for multitasking like you want to do.

Motherboard you will need to choose according to your CPU since they use different chipsets, but basic boards are anywhere from $40-$90 USD (make sure you get a reputable brand though like MSI, Giggabite, Asus, ASRock etc)

Graphics card can be important as well since the more processes you have open the beefier GPU you'll need, even if you run your clients on Low CPU mode which reduced the FPS to around 10.

Id suggest like a RX-460 (which is what I use) and can be bought for $100-$130 USD (Sapphire is a pretty reputable brand and is on the cheaper side aswell)

Ram, I personally have 16GB but that's over kill so 8GB should do fine, costing around $50 USD

Cases you can get for like $30 for a cheap one, it doesnt really matter as long as it will fit the size of motherboard you want.

Harddrive, 1TB harddrive is around $50 USD

So it'll cost you around $500 on the high side for the above.

Hire a vps to run bots and buy a 100$ computer with internet connection ^^

With a 400$ computer you won't get far :/

I already use a VPS for my bot farm,

PC is to get the bots ready to farm,

I've also reduced my requirement for bots running simultaneously to 6 maximum,

so could you advice me accordingly?

You wont be able to get 10 bots running with a budget of 400-500$ Sorry...

That was insightful and extremely helpful,

thanks mate!

You can buy an ebay computer for like 250, should be able to run 10 5-10 no problem

I'll look into it, but I'm looking to buy a new pre-built PC or if need be, new custom PC.

Thanks though.

iirc osrs can run on integrated graphics, it's cpu based anyway.

Seeing as he wont game he wont need a gpu.

SSD he probably wont need cause he wont care about fast boots and they'll cost more

CPU and RAM is the most important so get the best CPU and RAM possible

16gb ram is quite nice to have if you plan on running 5+ bots
