Lucki
This is going to be a quick guide on demonic gorillas. Geared towards Berserker Pures. Demonic Gorillas are a demi-boss similar to tormented demons in RS3 that you unlock after the completion of monkey madness 2. These are the things with overheads you fought before Glough. They're fairly simple once you get the hang of it but by no means are these afk. You'll need to pay attention the entire time or you'll miss a few prayer switches and get hit 30's. They don't always hit, I'd give them a 50% accuracy, but when they do it's usually a 30. Recommended Stats 75 Att + 80+ Str > 75 Att + 70(73) Str (Arclight) > 60 Att + 80 Str = 75 Att + 70(73) Str (No Arclight) 75+ Range (Blowpipe) > 70+ Range Optional: 94 Magic > 90 Magic (+4 Pot) for Vengeance Gear Setup This is the most optimal gear I can think of for zerkers. Tanks may want to bring guthans for healing, karils, and bandos tassets. Helm - Slay Helm (If on task it's BIS) > Berserker Helm > Rune Full Helm Necklace - Fury > Torture > Anguish > Glory Body - Blessed d'hide body > Black d'hide body Legs - Blessed Rune Platelegs > Rock-shell legs = Rune Platelegs Boots - Rune boots = Blessed d'hide boots* Gloves - Barrows gloves > Blessed vambraces > Black d'hide vambraces Ring - Berserker ring i = archer ring i > berserker ring = archer ring > ring of suffering i** Cape - Range Cape (t) > Ava's Accumulator > Range Cape Weapon - Blowpipe (Mith) > ACB (broads) > RCB (broads) *Boots option depends on where you need the most bonuses. Low range level, go with d'hide boots, else rune boots will be best. **Ring slot depends on where DPS boosts are needed. I'm low strength and 99 range so I take Berserker ring i. Pray bonus from ring of suffering isn't needed - they drop pray pots occasionally. Inventory Arclight - SGS - Pray pot - Pray pot Fire cape - Rune defender - pray pot - pray pot 16x sharks Super Combat - Ranging pot - Teleport to house - Royal Seed Pod Arclight is BiS melee against these monsters, so if you have it, bring it! It does insane DPS. Can be substituted for bludgeon, abby dagger, saradomin sword, or dragon scimitar. SGS is extremely useful for getting extra health and prayer on long trips. Not required by any means. Fire cape and rune defender are used for extra strength bonus that I need when using melee. Pray pots are vital if you're staying for long trips. They infrequently drop 2 (3) dose prayer potions. Sharks are pretty decent food. They drop sharks sometimes. Super combat potion saves space from bringing all three other combat potions. Ranging potion for added DPS. Teleport to house to restore prayer after a trip. Royal seed pod is the closest/fastest teleport to the demonic gorilla area. It's also untradeable so in the likely event that you do die, you can quickly tele to the Grand Tree using it and get your items back. Your inventory is really situational and depends entirely on how comfortable you are killing these things. If you don't last long due to missed switches, then you might not need 4 prayer pots. Maybe you're fine with monkfish, skip the sharks. Don't have an SGS? Replace it with a shark. No arclight? Replace it with one of the items listed above. Location Next to the Grand Tree in the Tree Gnome Stronghold. Exit through the gate and follow the crash site northeast. While the area itself is instanced, you do NOT lose your items upon death. You can safely return to retrieve them. Mechanics Prayer - They pray mage, melee, and range. The only time they mage pray is on spawn and not all gorillas do this. During the actual fight they switch between range and melee pray. Their prayer acts the same as ours in PvM - you can't hit them with range or melee given they're praying that respective style. Attacks - Due to them being similar to TDs, they attack with multiple styles. They use mage, range, and melee. Their mage attack is a green, disgusting blob looking attack that is shot from their mouth. Their range attack is a dusty, grayish ball that they throw at you. Their melee attack is a regular melee attack where its front legs pull up and attack you. Fighting them - In order to fight demonic gorillas effectively, you need to pray switch and gear switch quickly. Flinching is also done to predict phases. These are very click intensive! To begin fighting them, attack them with a style they aren't praying against. They'll hit you with a random attack of range, mage, or melee. Begin praying against that attack. After 3 0's, they will switch attack styles to one of the other two not being used. They will never choose two attack phases in a row, e.g. 3 range 0's into another range phase. This rule holds true for all phases. I'll repeat it: After 3 misses (0s) of a specific attack style (THIS DOES NOT HAVE TO BE CONSECUTIVE) they will switch. They have a "special attack" where they drop a boulder from the ceiling. To avoid this, step off of the square you're on. That's all there is to it. It's a free hit. Notable points: Watch overheads. Count 0s (1.. 2.. 3.. Switch) Switch your attack style quickly Scenarios - If the current phase is a range attack, keep distance on the third zero and active mage pray. Hover over the melee prayer and if the gorillas moves at all then activate it. If the current phase is a mage attack, keep distance on the third zero and active range pray. Hover over the melee prayer and if the gorillas moves at all then activate it. If the current phase is a melee attack, walk each hit until the third zero and then activate either range or mage prayer. It is random. Switch prayers if necessary. If the gorilla is praying mage and you hit higher DPS using melee, use range to start. If the gorilla is praying mage and you hit higher DPS using range, use melee to start. Thanks for reading.
