Narcos was a really good documentary about pablo escobar. And an anime really worth watching is Full Metal Alchemist. You won't regret it.

Game of Thrones is definitely a good choice, in my opinion! The first episode of the first season may be hard to follow because so many characters are almost literally thrown at you but, it's worth the watch.
