  1. Who said we couldn't hire official script developers?
  2. Can't wait to pay for 2-3 months of rent, I've been convincing my landlord that paperclips and lint was good enough.
  3. I'm going to put it in my cookie jar and save up enough to buy the new linkin park cd. Maldesto is an employee
  4. I've already detailed why a customer would want to choose a non-official script over an official script, but I'm really talking in circles right now. I'm going to see what everyone else has to say about the main issue of the topic, which is customers losing their scripts and if this is a good solution which both sides can agree on.
  5. Pretty much the point I was trying to make. For instance a woodcutter would probably not support the special trees, woodcutting guild, getting house favor, plank support, etc. whereas a scripter can add the fancy paints, customizations, and extra features. However it would be an official script so our customers have the peace of mind knowing that their script will last forever. It gives more options for the customer. Also it would only be 5 "essential" script categories. I don't think we would ever have something like official quests, minigames, money making, etc. Also it would be very unlikely to even have a fletcher, smither, herblore, or construction script.
  6. So you're saying that Microsoft shouldn't release premium versions of Microsoft Visual Studio or Microsoft Office because it's unfair to other companies who wish to sell their software? You keep using singular terms such as "member", "you", and "your". I've consistently said "team" and "company". These scripts would be release by the company, not by me labeling it as "OSBot Official".
  7. Once again, the point of official scripts is to have the script forever because it's maintained by the company and not an individual. I don't think you're really understanding the difference. Edit: It also looks like you want OSBot to release completely free scripts which would not only hurt OSBot, but completely crash all the other scripts.
  8. Happens on OSBot more than other sites, but I've noticed it elsewhere too. Are you using Chrome?
  9. Well the difference is, is that any point someone like Khaleesi or Czar could leave and their scripts can break. At this point the customer is out of luck and would be forced to repurchase. It may seem like a crazy idea, but 5uck had a much bigger script presence than Czar and AT Team was much bigger than everyone here. Good idea on the feedback system, but unfortunately it can be incredibly flawed. Scripters sabatoge each other all the time; at some point there will be a "Vote broken for all Khaleesi's scripts for a free auth" program. Additionally what if the client has a broken hook and all the script users decide to flag it as broken? What if the botter is running 100 stolen accounts all on the same ip for that script, gets banned, then blames the script?
  10. I'm not entirely sure what you're arguing against. Is it the term "OSBot Official Script", because that's exactly what the scripts would be. You would be buying the scripts directly from OSBot, not from a particular scripter. It's the difference between purchasing OEM car parts or computer parts versus aftermarket. Sometimes the aftermarket can be much better, but sometimes people just want guaranteed reliability.
  11. When did I ever do this? Then how would you know which scripts are fully supported by the development team and will last as long as the bot lasts?
  12. You are incorrect on a lot of this. His scripts are still on the SDN, but they are removed from the store so nobody else can purchase them. His current customers still have access. In a world of infinite time and resources I can babysit scripters more than I already have to. You are missing the point entirely of why official scripts would be introduced. The official scripts would be premium alternatives that guarantees your purchase will exist forever. It's unfair to customers having to rebuy scripts over again. Once again, scripters would still have an advantage through features and being a bit more agile than us. I think I remember Czar had some map tool where you could literally select areas to go woodcutting, a feature we would probably never even consider in the official scripts.
  13. Just off the top of my head, 5uck, Mrsdefnerd, Mysteryy, AT Team, Extreme Scripts, Dream Scripts, and Zappa (not the current Zappa). Those are just ones that I know had a bunch of scripts, there are lots of individual scripts that I forget the names of. Also sometimes we'll change the API around because of a fairly large game update. For instance we removed the worlds hook and went strictly based on the world hopper. Sometimes there may be a big game update and the scripter will have to update their scripts regardless of the API.
  14. No, because thats not the point of having the official scripts lol.
  15. The issue is not getting new scripts, its scripters who eventually leave whether it be in 3 months or 3 years. Also just to reiterate, it would be your basic resource scripts. Not a Zulrah script, Barrows script, Quest script, Minigame, script, etc.
  16. Probably not, I would have a scripter write it.
  17. Reputable scripters would still have great sales and they would still be able to compete by offering things like free trials and having more features.
  18. It would make it harder for them to get a competitive script on the SDN such as a woodcutter, miner, fletching, or fishing script. The current scripts in those categories would still exist though (provided they are still doing well). Edit: Initially it would take us away a bit from working on the client, but we would drastically make up that time by having less management on the SDN.
  19. I still want to have diversity and give scripters a home, but on the other hand its ridiculous how a scripter leaves and their shitty static id scripts break.
  20. Just doing a poll for the community to see if this is something everyone is interested in. What would you guys think about official OSBot SDN scripts? Essentially there would be basic SDN scripts such as a Fisher, Woodcutter, Miner, which would be fully supported by the development team. Pros: 1. Your script will always be there, you don't have to worry about the scripter leaving and your script breaking 2. Directly purchasing from our business instead of through a third-party Cons: 1. Scripters can sometimes be more agile and offer more features 2. Scripters are more likely to engage in free trials and other promotional offers OSBot would only release a suite of basic scripts, specific scripts such as minigames, quests, gold farming, would still be left to scripters. Any competitive scripts to OSBot's official scripts would still be on the SDN, but we would carefully review any new competitive scripts. But why? It seems our customers are very unhappy purchasing scripts only to find out that the scripter has left the community and their purchases just vanished into thin air. This would give customers a certain amount of protection which cannot be given by the current system. Please post your thoughts below.
  21. This isn't 1990, they can detect bots without needing to manually walk around the worlds.
