  22. Some things look good certain ways, don't they though? I wasn't saying he was doing it wrong, it could of been executed better, yes. Of course, there really isn't a right or wrong in art, but I presume when most are designing, they want it to (usually) be visually appealing. Sigh, well, when you (meaning I), post critique on some of the others' works, some get mad because it doesn't match the others' comments about the work. Some of the people here, cannot take some truthful criticism. They get mad and ignorant when it comes that, then everyone else joins in. Nothing wrong with experimenting and then posting it for feedback/critique, there will always be a few people who do not like it (or parts of the image). It just seems that when someone tends to have a different view on that image, they get poured with other comments of people calling that opinion 'rude'. I'm not trying to be offensive at all, it's just that most of you when commenting to on someone's piece(s), are usually- "nice work", "good job", "looks sick". Which there is nothing wrong with that of course. Now, of course, when we make something, we view it from our own personal view(s) towards it, and we make it how it looks nice to us. I just presume (and feel like) that most of the beginners (and nothing wrong with this) really do not know the basics of art in general, they just slap stuff onto the canvas, add effects and stuff and bam. Sure, that isn't a huge problem, but it'll become a habit of slapping stuff on again, and again, and again. Is crit, short for critique or critical, I don't know. Like I said, most of the opinions are coming from a 'designer/client' view, therefore, they might be a bit 'harsh', and I do apologize if they come across like that, but they're meant to be helpful. But with before in other places, if you have any questions or need help, my inbox is always open.
  23. Hi, if you were going to use B&E on everything a design, that would look horrid? (Correct me if I'm wrong on that). I'm not saying B&E should only be applied to certain things, it looks nice on all, if done decently, at least. It's not rude to say that most of what I, or others, see in designs that use B&E aren't that great. It's an opinion, and if it were to come from a artist/'designer' view, it might not be visually appealing to whomever the audience/target. As well, I'm not saying it should be limited to say; text. It does work in various styles, but what I tend to see on a lot of forums, most use it for text. I don't think his designs are bad, and not to use B&E, but practice and just experiment with it till you get your bearings on it.
