This tutorial assumes you have a small amount of knowledge of Photoshop (mainly putting a image into it). If you have any questions or anything else, please don't hesitate to ask me here or in PM. Began by making a new document(File > New / Ctrl + N) with the dimensions (size) of 550x250. Drag your image into the document, e.g. The image is in a folder > Click and drag it into the document window into Photoshop. *Why drag and drop instead of opening it in PS? It allows the object (image) to become a Smart Object. Follow that link for more info. Your document should look like this: Now, duplicate your image about 4 times (Ctrl + J / Right click the layer > Duplicate), as well, I personally like to group the parts of the signature together, so click your image layer and hit Ctrl + G / Folder icon at the bottom of your screen; *Group the layer before you duplicate for ease of grouping. Grouping is an excellent feature included in PS. So now, your layers panel should look like this. (To re-name a folder/layer, you can double click the name of the layer ("Layer 1")). As well, to 'turn off/hide' a layer, just click the "eye" icon next to it, on the left side. Now take the Move Tool (V), and move the top layer to the left like so; Now, go to the Smudge Tool, found under the Paint Bucket/Gradient on the Tools panel. If you try to smudge, something will pop-up telling you need to rasterize this layer, say ok. I randomly picked a basic brush with these settings (Window > Brush): If you look at the figure of your image, it has 'flow'/'movement', which is great for a smudge signature. This will be direction(s) we will smudge in. There really isn't a right/wrong to smudging, just do what you want with it. If you look at the top bar, you can find some settings regarding the Smudge Tool, here are what mine look like; But feel free to change the strength and size at any time to change it up. Once you feel like you did good on the first one, un-hide the layer under that, and repeat the process. Just don't smudge in one direction all the time, go up, down, diagonal, sideways, any way. Change the settings above some more! Just experiment with it. Now, place the original file on top of the other copies of it. It just looks slapped around as you can tell, which means, more smudge! Make your brush smaller (Left Bracket [ or manually setting it in the settings) and go around the edges of the image to 'blend' it in to the background. Lookin' good. Now. we should make a new group called "Adjustments" for all your extra adjustment layers and anything else. Once you're done, make a new layer. Image > Apply Image > Ok This merges all your current layers into one on a new layer. Proceed to; Filter > Sharpen > Sharpen Double click the layer (anywhere on the panel); Finished: *As above, if you need any help or have questions of some sorts, feel free to ask it here or in my PM. I'd be glad to help offer help to your problem(s)!

Shall start soon~, waiting on replies from others & more to decide what to make first!

Will work on something for this. Wouldn't mind doin' another smudgerino. Would you like this to be extensive (as in including a tutorial(s) of designing and art itself with an actual tutorial of Photoshop's capabilities and what it can do) or just something like a basic tag/signature tutorial? If you look at the reply above this, let me know how you feel about that!

So, I've seen some people tryna learn some graphic design but with not much avail in others providing help. As well, summer is starting up and I got some time, and I wouldn't mind giving back to you guys with the time I got so; Would you guys (graphics area), would like a few tutorials and some resource packs that I've acquired and can come up with to help the beginners or those with experience who'd like to further their skills in designing? If so, what types of tutorials/resources/etc., would you guys like to be shown? If you have idea(s) on what you'd like to see, post below and I'll see what I can come up with.

Send a PM anytime you'd like.

My CnC: Fix the spelling errors Make the text bigger in "About" & "Features" Center the "Thread" and "Signature" texts on the Bundle category, doesn't make sense b/c on the other categories, they are centered Add a collage of images in the "Screenshot" area, instead of one single C4D text image Good luck with the sales and future designs, nonetheless.

The bottom image, has way too many textures/layer styles on it. Like Alek said, I like simplicity as well, so I'm not a huge fan of it. The glow on the "s" for the bottom image is too much imo as well.

Had some free time, thought I'd bring out the rust bucket.

1st is the best imo. The rest fall off on the colors, they don't fit each other. The last one (tropical one) is way too burnt on the edges and the contrast is off. But nice job in all. -
I feel ya on the fonts, lmao.
-
Nice as well, but the font/text look similar to the Eagle Scripting ones. :p
-
The green and red buttons ruin the color scheme, so I'd change those, but otherwise they are nice.

.... I've never stated either of those are mine? Your IQ is seems to be low because you only managed to TinEye the images, and not comment about anything else I've said in the post above. The images were to imply that photo manipulation is just a bunch of images that are broken up to form something new, something custom.

Well, first off, it looks like you can't take some criticism. So, good luck trying to progress in art and design without being able to take some. Please explain; Because that makes no sense, as well I have no idea what pieces you are referring to, since you said 'stolen fan art', I am going to assume you're talking about the thread designs? Congratulations, you managed to accomplish the same sprawled out text with your own thread design, mate. I wasn't judging you at all, I was giving you criticism, which an artist should expect when they showcase something, not everyone is going to like it. As well, I'm positive I have more experience than you in some areas, compared to you, with your thrown together work. If you'd had any knowledge and experience in art, you'd realize with the elements and principles of art, you'd fix your mistakes. So, last but not least, let me go over; So basically, photo-manipulation is horrid is what you're saying? Those are broken apart images? I'm sure you haven't seen manipulations like these? Are those custom enough for you? Tldr: You're not going to go far with your designs if you can't build upon honest criticism.

This is honestly worth under $10; The red overlay looks terrible with the text having a inner shadow. As well, the background is just a (repeated) texture? Plus I'd personally choose a different font to fit this. The actual lay-out/the way it's ordered is not bad but the elements are awful.

Thanks. Yeah, I'd prefer a separate class for it as well, and I'll look into that, thanks.

Hey everyone, I was wondering if some of you could help me out with something that is probably easy. I have basic knowledge of Java, and GUI making, etc Swing, JavaFX through Eclipse's window builder and such. Now, probably about 99% of the scripts have a GUI with options and such, what I'm wondering is how would I would incorporate actions; E.G, I have a start button on my GUI, after all the settings are to my liking, I'd click start to obviously start the script. I realize the actionhandler method(s) are used there, etc. But would I need to make the GUI class within the, say, TestMiner.java (The main file of the script extending the Script class of the API). Would that allow me to start the script when the handler is called when the Start button is clicked? Or if someone could provide small snippet(s) to this, that would be great. Or, if you need a better explanation, I'd be happy to provide another one.
