So I'm on the phone with a friend on mines who works for paypal and were talking about a recent 80$ chargeback that I had with a user who is not banned from OSbot and he tells me that paypal will be covering tangible good now. They will have there own verification system outside of the services verification. Basically what they have now is they protect the seller 100% against service charges basically if the company have all the information of the produce being sold weather it is tracked or digital the company would win the chargeback. As for unauthorized transactions they have a fully loaded system check that they go through as far as recent password changes and IP checks etc. For tangible good such as like downloads and stuff like that paypal does not offer protection right now because there system for verifying downloads and checking other things is not laid out right now so if you purchased a download or anything that can be downloaded and not tracked you would lose the case, but paypal is not going to start protecting against these things to keep fraudulent activity down.
For users who sell downloadable things this is a bad thing for you if you have shitty support and people download your shit and it does not work like enavto marketplace for wordpress themes. If you do not respond to cases in a certain time the case is decided in the buyers favor. The buyer would also need to have substantial evidence that the produce does not work paypal is unraveling a whole team of specialist to check these things.
Basically paypal is updating there systems for the better of everything. I think its good because people who actually run business are having more support to the products that they are selling as well as buyers are getting more protection. Its also good for companies like my company who offer good support because we can win cases just by offering good support and actually getting problems fixed so all these slacking companies better step it up.
