Does 3.999... to infinity = 4?
Winner! Sadly a lot of people won't believe this result :P Double only goes to 64 bits, so it can't accurately represent an infinite series in that way. Also, floating point arithmetic can only accurately represent fractions to a certain amount of significant digits. I think double is like 13? I can't remember

Does 3.999... to infinity = 4?
Let's see what people think about this, and we'll try to prove some people wrong :P 3.999... means 3.999 followed by an infinite number of 9's. So 3.9999999999999999999999999999999999999 going on forever. Now let me ask you, is this equal to 4? Post your proofs

Math help for all you people
How have I not found anybody that actually agrees with this...

Math help for all you people
Ok, so lets say its 1/6500. If you kill it 10k times, your chances of receiving it is 1-(6499/6500)^10000 = 0.785314, which is about 78.5%. That means that there is a 21.5% chance that you do not recieve a visage in 10k kills

Math help for all you people
So it has come to my attention that some people (Gh0st) need a math lesson. So here's the proposition: If I know the drop rate of an item from a monster, I can then calculate how many kills I need to get in order to have a specific chance of obtaining a drop. Therefore if I want to get a draconic visage, and I know the drop rate, I can then calculate my chances of receiving one after X amount of kills. So lets assume the chances of getting a drop is 1/8000 for each kill. My chances of not getting a visage are therefore 7999/8000 Now, what are my chances of not getting a visage in 2 kills? This would be (7999/8000)^2. My chances of not getting one after 3 kills? ( 7999/8000)^3 For those who don't know what this ^ symbol is, that is an exponent symbol, or power. So (7999/8000)^2 means (7999/8000) to the exponent 2. We can then generalize that my chances of not getting a visage over X amount of kills is (7999/8000)^X. The chances of my getting a visage are then 1-(7999/8000)^X for any X amount of kills. So as an example, if I kill 5000 dragons, then my chances of getting a visage are 1-(7999/8000)^5000 = 0.464769481 So about 46%. This means that there is a 46% chance that somewhere between my first kill, and 5000th kill, there will be a visage drop. Now you can all go and figure out how many times you will have to kill a monster to have whatever chance of getting that item, instead of everybody telling you "There is no chance, it's just random" (WTF IS THIS!?!?!?!?!?!?!) Notes: You are not calculating your chance of getting the item on a specific drop. You are calculating your chance of getting a drop out of X amount of kills. So out of 5000 kils, what are the chances at atleast 1 of them will contain the dropped item.

VPN = RISK?
I'm no expert on networks and stuff, but what exactly is dangerous about using a vpn? I thought it would be better for preventing ddos attacks since people can't get your IP. Also, I don't suggest using a vpn, tonnes of them are ip flagged by jagex

Question about bot-quantity on my potential dedicated server
If you get an i7 for a good price it will perform just as well as any server grade cpu. I thought the only real benefit of a server grade was ECC ram, which you wouldn't even need just for botting. I haven't had any issues with mine for the past month. Stability. Plus the E3-1230v2 costs 230$ compared to the equivalent i7 of 330$ Wow that's a lot, you can pickup a similar dedi for $40-50 with Windows I think he's talking about the price of purchasing, not renting a dedi. Also, an e3-1230 for 40-50$/month? If you actually have access to that I'd love to know :P And the host I went with was selling i series for much cheaper than the xeons, so I went with it instead.
