Looking back at my old posts/threads, I look so dumb. I was asking similar questions that a lot of new gold farmers ask now such as "Where should i bot to make money", "Should i use public or private scripts", etc. Everyone starts somewhere. I lost over $100 when starting out, mostly due to overpaying for a private script that I could write for myself now within 30 minutes. I also wasted money on accounts and proxies and a lot of my time. Took me like 2 months to finally realize how to properly gold farm and make good profits. I spent like a month learning how to program before I got back into gold farming and then started farming on a small scale. Over time I got bigger and bigger and now im to the point that my whole farm is automated and i have to do no work except load new .txt files every once in a while when all my accounts have been used. It's a journey but it is well worth it. People need to see gold farming as a business. When you start a new business, you're not going to make insane profits at first. You might even lose some money at first. But with anything, if you stick with it long enough and build off of your mistakes, you'll figure it out and it'll get easier.

This is a very popular thread with many many users so if a new location is mentioned, the location will be populated very quickly so I can only suggest examples of good locations - Don't go botting straight after a game update, it can be a very easy way to get banned. Wait a few hours! If you ever get banned, just backtrack your mistakes and avoid them in the future: you cannot be banned without making botting mistakes. DISCLAIMER: THIS DOESN'T INVOLVE CODE. THIS IS MERELY FOR BEGINNERS WHO HAVEN'T GRASPED THE REQUIRED CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS TO SCRIPT. Hello All! Recently decided that I'd attempt to use my Java knowledge for botting. I'm not super experienced but I'm organized when it comes to development and that's what I'm going to teach you today. Being organized is one of the most crucial steps to understanding how to piece your script together. Apaec has an excellent guide that you should read if you haven't already. (It's pinned so I'm not going to bother linking it). In his guide he mentions State Machines. Which are a series of boolean statements, true or false, which decide what action the bot will perform. It's great that he introduces the idea but I felt like he doesn't go into enough detail about how to plan a script. Because while you can jump right in and start coding, you want a foundation and goals in mind to improve efficiency and in turn will allow for you to build on top of what you've already created later on. Currently I'm working on a 1-33 Progressive Magic Leveler. This is for TeleGrab, but there's a decent amount of thought process behind just getting to that goal level of 33. These are some of the goals required to eventually get to level 33: Where to get items Equipment Runes What spells to use When to swap spells Where to splash These are only a handful of the goals and if you're anything like me having the goals in mind is great, but not listing them step by step still makes it a confusing path to getting to your completed script. How/Where to get Items: So first step is to plan out how to get the required runes/equipment to get to level 33 efficiently. I'll be using a muling system for gathering materials so I don't have to worry about having the bot running everywhere which makes the script more complicated and also more prone to get stuck. So we're not going to go into the muling process. We'll just simply state that we have a mule that has all the required materials for our magic adventure. Needed Equipment: So what materials are actually needed? Well Splashing is by far the easiest way to do this, but I want to also get it within a decent amount of time. To splash you need a Magic Bonus of -65 to splash 100% of the time. So to reach that -65 Magic Bonus we'll use an Iron Full Helm, Platebody, Platelegs, and Kite Shield. This will get us to -65. We won't be using a staff as elemental staves provide a +5 Magic Bonus. We could use the "Cursed Goblin Staff" which provides no Magic Bonus, but since we'll only be using autocast spells until level 3, there's no need! So the core equipment will be the iron set. Needed Runes/Spells to Use/When to Swap: Well at level 1 Magic you will only have access to Wind Strike. At Level 3 you'll gain Confuse. At level 11 you gain Weaken and finally at level 19 we'll have Curse, which we'll use until 33. Our Intended Spell Usage: 1-3 Wind Strike | 1 Air 1 Mind per Cast 3-11 Confuse | 1 Body 2 Earth 3 Water per Cast 11-19 Weaken | 1 Body 2 Earth 3 Water per Cast 19-33 Curse | 1 Body 2 Water 3 Earth per Cast Now that we've planned our Spell Casting route, we need to calculate how many runes we'll need to get to our desired levels! Searching up any old xp calculator for OSRS should do the trick. So we'll need 32 Air and 32 Mind Runes to get to level 3 For 3-11 we'll need 92 Body, 184 Earth, and 276 Water Runes using confuse 11-19: 125 Body, 250 Earth, and 375 Water Runes 19-33: 493 Body, 986 Water, and 1479 Earth Runes Total Runes for 1-33: 32 Air Runes 32 Mind Runes 710 Body Runes 1913 Earth Runes 1637 Water Runes Where to Splash: Where we choose to splash will also decide where to keep our mule. I'll demonstrate how all of this planning ties together in a flowchart at the end. But where shall we splash? Lumbridge is insanely crowded on F2P which are the type of accounts I'll be using to get level 33. Draynor isn't too far but can result in some problems if the Dark Wizards wander too far. Varrock is rather far but once past the Dark Wizards we have numerous NPCs to attack. I like the idea of Varrock the best so we'll route ourselves there. Flowchart: This is where we combine all our goals and ideas to construct the script! The resulting flowchart I've created from this may differ from yours depending on what you find most important for the bot to do first! Note: This isn't a final flowchart. It's laying the groundwork. Immediate Issues with this Flowchart: What if the mule doesn't have materials? What if the bot can't hold the items? What qualifies as "materials?" Can air runes be depleted and the script continue? This is just an example. It's not fully done but it gives you a better idea on how to plan your script. Preventing RS Botting Bans V3 Written by Alek 1. Introduction This guide is Version 3 of my original guide released 4 years ago. I decided to focus more on commonly asked questions and general misconceptions about botting. Many of the topics are very technical and there are brilliant engineers who both bust bots and create them. The majority of botters who come here have little to no programming experience, or very little knowledge in subject areas such as reverse engineering. It’s very difficult to fully explain all key concepts, however hopefully this material will give you a base reference to draw your own conclusions. 2. How to not get banned The secret formula to botting is keeping a very, very, low profile. This game has been around for 15+ years, that is a TON of data to play with. Generally speaking: -Don’t bot more than 4 hours per day -Don’t bot more than 10 hours per week -Diversify your tasks -Don’t use a VPN/VPS/proxy -Don’t bot more than one account -Do quests -Don’t RWT/goldfarm -Don’t bot in hot spots, use places like Zeah You’re going to have a ton of people say, “oh I suicided for 11 years straight, never logged out, I make $500k/year”, etc. They simply don’t. Either they haven’t botted long enough or their claims are baseless. If you want to keep your account relatively safe then don’t bot longer than the times I recommended above. Time played is a key factor into profiling a bot, it’s been even talked about on official livestreams during live bot busting events. 3. Misconceptions The biggest misconception is that the company doesn’t have any automatic detection systems. Although the detection vectors improve over the years, there are official statements claiming that all bans are manually reviewed before being issued. THIS DOES NOT MEAN ACCOUNTS ARE NOT AUTOMATICALLY FLAGGED. Common situation: Suicide bot on the weekend without getting banned, account gets a ban on the following Monday or Tuesday. This is because your account was probably flagged over the weekend, then eventually reviewed for the final determination on the following business days. Another misconception is that if you “survived the weekend”, then you are safe. This is certainly not true, most anticheat will "flag and monitor". This means that you were in fact detected but the anticheat is watching your actions very closely to grab more information about what you are doing. Information from these monitoring sessions are used to quickly detect and ban in the future. For Runescape, one example is the use of bot worlds. Another non-Runescape example is Valve-AntiCheat profiling numerous hacks over the course of months and then issue behemoth ban waves all at once for games like Counter-Strike. 4. Antiban/Antipattern Scripters who include antiban/antipattern methods in their scripts are either naive, new scripters, or are trying to earn more sales by making false promises. Competitor clients further this perpetuation by forcing script writers to implement these methods. It’s a gimmick and overall you’re going to get banned whether you use these "special methods" or not. Some of these “special” (aka worthless) methods are: -Moving your mouse randomly -Checking your exp -Examining random objects -Moving your camera angle randomly -Implementing “fatigue” systems -Diversifying the way you interact with objects One of the special methods I’d like to talk about which was not listed above was randomizing sleep time between actions. This is especially special because there are numerous flaws with it. 1. Your computer doesn’t perfectly execute actions in the same time every time 2. Your script doesn’t perfectly loop in the same time every time 3. Your ping fluctuates causing a delay between the client and server 4. If the top three all remained constant, you could find the upper and lower bounds of the mean and use statistics to recreate the sleep time. Anti-pattern is a bit different, but a lot of scripters have been wrongly claiming their script having “antipattern” when they’re really using the same “special methods”. Examples of antipattern: - Talking to other players (Cleverbot) - Mixing up tasks (perhaps after accumulating X gold, go to the Grand Exchange and sell) The goal of anti-pattern is to reduce the chances of being manually reported by other players for botting. Although “antipattern” is more desirable than “antiban”, there is still no definitive proof of the impact it has in the total picture. 5. Client detection 5A. I’m going to keep this relatively brief because this is probably the most technical aspect of this guide. There is an overarching debate over Injection vs Reflection and it’s pretty silly. Both are detectable because both have different ways you can detect it. In the non-Java hacking world, this would be equivalent to something like ReadProcessMemory versus LoadLibrary. To better put it, reading memory from outside the process versus inside. There are ways to hide it, ways to find it, ways to hide against the ways to find it, and ways to find the ways how to hide it against from finding it. As you can see, it’s really cat and mouse and it boils down to implementation. 5B. Additionally, you can be detected for macroing without even using a client. You can banned for using Gary's Hood or AutoHotKey. Both of these use some sort of Windows API function like SendInput, from protected mode. This is how color-bots also get detected without injecting/reflecting the client. 5C. Mirror Mode adds some protection to users where the normal OSBot client can be detected. Think of mirror-mode as a safety catch rather than a comprehensive antiban measure; and yes mirror mode has genuinely protected users at least on one confirmed occasion. In summary, you will still get banned because mirror-mode only protects you from one aspect of botting and there are potentially hundreds of detection vectors. 6. Conclusion and final remarks Having good botting habits like I outlined in section two, and having a good script which is reliable and not prone to getting baited (locked behind doors, etc), is your safest bet. There are people who do “studies” and “research” but ultimately their results are inconclusive, non-definitive, and certainly only proves a correlation and not causation. There are too many variables to isolate to make any data worthwhile; ip address, computer, scripts, clients, botting locations, skills, account time, bot time, quests, RWT, java exceptions, client detection, the list goes on and on. Too many variables to isolate, too much that we cannot prove. The bottom-line is that the only people who know specifics about the anticheat system are the anticheat developers.

I've been gold farming for almost 1.5 years now and have made lots of money so I've decided to write my own guide. Tips You will eventually be banned by gold farming. There is no way around it. The key is to profit as much as you can before getting banned. Don't complain when you get banned. Mule the gold every few hours so you do not risk losing out on profits Find a good private script Buy a VPS to increase the size of your farm Do not bot stupid stuff like Blast Furnace or woodcutting and expect to not be banned. No one is going to tell you their gold farm method so do not ask Test things out to see what is profitable. Buy VIP to expand your gold farm(if you plan to run more than 2) Get sponsor if you plan to be a long term gold farmer. Once you have a nice set up, invest in Sponsor. If you do not want to pay for a private script, then learn to code yourself. You can be writing your own simple scripts in a few weeks of practicing it. Learn to use Linux. Dedicated servers are better than VPS's. There are a lot of different types of gold farms. Gold farming zulrah or gold farming f2p clay miners, the end result is to profit. They are the best things invented for botting. Basic FAQ 1) Is OSRS profitable? Yes there is a lot of money to be made in gold farming Runescape. I just read the other day that someone gold farmed enough to get lazer eye surgery to improve their eye sight. Other people have made thousands of dollars from it so it is possible. This does not mean that it is easy though. 2) How do I know what is profitable? My suggestion from personal experience is go to around Runescape and find random things that are profitable. There are a lot of things that are not common and make anywhere from 200-500k/hour. I've found many methods that make good money just from exploring osrs. 3) What is a private script? It is a script bought by only you 4) Should I use a private script or a public script? Private scripts are better because they are unique to only you. If you are wanting to start a gold farm, I strongly suggest buying a private script. 5) Where do I buy a private script? Many scripters sell private scripts. Go to the private script section to search for some. 6) How do I get the private script to show up? Place it in your Users/Osbot/Scripts folder. Refresh your client and it will appear 7) What is a VPS? Basically its something that lets you run more bots. If you have a shitty computer, then get a VPS to run more bots. 7) What is a proxy? A proxy is used to change your ip on the client. It does not lower ban rates but it prevents chain bans. This means that all your accounts are not linked on the same IP. 9) What is a mule? An account that holds your gold and is not botted 10) Will my mule get banned? It is very hard for a mule to get banned( very low chance but still possible) 11) What is automated muling? Some people have it coded into their scripts to automatically transfer gold. This is the ultimate gold farming strategy because it lowers the risk of profit loss and allows the user to have less input 12) Should I bot f2p or p2p? p2p is the way to go. For some reason p2p bots have a lower ban rate and there are a lot better methods. 13) Why should I invest money if I am just going to be banned? If you find a good method and bot smart, you will make profit. 14) How many hours a day should I bot? No one knows the answer to this. There's always a risk in botting. 15) Does the weekend really have a lower ban rate? From what I have seen, yes it does. Jagex is out of the office during these days. This does not mean you cannot be banned, but I know a lot of people who run huge gold farms starting Friday-Monday morning. 16) What are breaks? Breaks are a user selected option that allows you to control how long to bot for and when to not bot. Many people believe that having breaks can reduce the ban rate. 17) What is Mirror Mode? It is a VIP only feature that masks the official runescape client so that Jagex cannot detect that you are using a third party app. -- I have no opinion on this-- 18) What is CLI mode? It is an easier way to gold farm if you are running a lot of bots. I highly suggest using it. At first no. It takes time to find a good method and to set everything up. It is a lot of checking on your bots and making sure they're running smoothly. The goal in the end is to be able to only spend a few minutes each day and to make a lot of money. 22) How much antiban should I have in my script? Little to none. Antiban is fake to draw in users. The best way to reduce your ban rate is to have a flawless script that does not get stuck or repeat actions. After using v3.04 i am fairly certain i can safely say that it is the best version of the bot since i have started using it 8 months ago! (not saying its ever been bad) Now that all the tweaks have been put into it it is working flawlessly for me, very very happy! Just wanted to show some progress from today as well, ran it for 2 hr 20mins, had a 1hr 20 min break then continued for another 2 hours 10 mins.. safe to say i have had a fair bit of use out of it as well! They know that if they ban all the bots, they would lose lots of players, damage the economy, and lose out on huge profit margins from membership I think they definitely have the resources to know pretty consistently who does and doesn't bot, they just selectively ban people to make the more dedicated players feel better! Edit: I think in the end it is a compromise - if they ban too many botters, they risk damaging the game. If they ban too few, they risk damaging the game

ups, ssd are main highlights imo. older case, older memory, older cpu, are quite the turn offs. probably 250 total? personally i wouldn't really pay for old cpu and memory unless i only used it for like league or something XD. can't reuse the memory in most new cpus so that sucks ^^not an expert im probably wrong so dont take it to heart

If I were you I'd go to a forum with computer hardware enthusiasts. Maybe something like the PCMR subreddit or Toms Hardware. The GPU is highly outdated I belive. The first link I saw on Ebay said $99, but I'd never concider buying a 1GB card for that. You should probably take a picture of the motherboards model number, but seeing as it's in a prebuilt with a locked CPU, I wouldn't expect more from it than working. The CPU is good. Certainly a few years now, but you could easily make that system a great HTPC/budget gaming PC with a mid range GPU in it. The CPU is pretty much the i7-7700 of 2012. The RAM seems to be alright, 16GB of 1600mhz. You need DDR3 for that motherboard/CPU anyways. The case is just a prebuild case, don't expect much from it.
