From the little research I've done on this, it seems that audio is in fact the culprit. My educated guess is that when the game makes a sound, java queues it up to be sent to the local audio device. On VPS/Dedicated servers though, there is no audio device. So the buffers fill up until it crashes the JVM. There are two ways to fix this, first way is Juggles method. If you have control of the script, this is the best method (maybe better with method #2? untested). Simply make a script able to disable the music, or manually do this to each acc (Go into settings, move all 3 sliders in sound options to the left). The second way is to install an audio server. I simply installed ALSA + Pulseaudio with a "dummy" driver, and in my tests I have seen this also allows the buffer to be emptied. The walking system is basically a map with points and connections linking each point. It tells the script where to go, and decides the routes to take when walking to fightzones. Walking system 1 This uses a custom walking API written by myself and is constantly being updated as new fightzones are added. Pros: - Updates are instant, no waiting times - More fightzones are supported Cons: - Sometimes if an object is altered, the changes are not instant - Restarting the script too many times requires loading this webwalker each time which adds unnecessary memory (there is no way to make it only load at client startup since I don't control the client) Walking system 2 This is the default OSBot webwalking API - it is relatively new and very stable since the developers have built it, but is currently lacking certain fightzones (e.g. stronghold) and other high level requirement zones. It is perfect for normal walking (no object interactions or stairs, entrances etc) and never fails. Pros: - Stable, works perfect for normal walking - All scripters are giving code to improve the client webwalker - More efficient when restarting the script since it is loaded upon client start Cons: - No stronghold support yet - Some new/rare fightzones not supported yet - If there is a game-breaking update or an unsupported fightzone, it may take some time to add/repair (less than 24 hours usually) So which system should I choose? Whichever one suits your chosen fightzone best! There really shouldn't be any problems - the sole purpose of these options are for backup and emergency purposes, if the script ever messes up there is always the next option to select. While making my fishing script on Karajama island to fish lobsters, I noticed an extremely high usage of memory when fishing lobsters/swordfish. This does not occur when fishing anything else in Runescape. Now this only occurred while I had my music on, but when I turned the RS music off, the memory would go down to normal. I have no idea how or why this happens but it has been bugging me for a week now. The problem only seems to occur on linux too. I rewrote the fishing script 5 different times but the problem still occurred. The way it got fixed was by putting all of the RS music off. This makes no sense to me what so ever.

Anti-ban and Optimal script usage Anti-ban: - Don't go botting more than 3 hours at once, take breaks! Otherwise the ban-rate is highly increased! - Bans also depend on where you bot, for the best results: bot in unpopular locations Banking-related spells are the lowest ban-rate (spells which require banking or can be casted near a bank, e.g. superheating, maybe alching, jewelry enchanting etc etc) since you can just go to a full world and blend in with other non-bots (humans), for example: world 2 grand exchange If casting spells on npcs, then unpopular locations reduce the banrate by alot, So make sure not to go to botting hotspots otherwise you may be included in ban waves. - Some good areas used to be (until some got popular): grizzly bear, yanille stun-alching, any overground tiles (upstairs etc) but once the areas are overpopulated, try to go to another location which is similar to the aforementioned locations. This is a very popular thread with many many users so if a new location is mentioned, the location will be populated very quickly so I can only suggest examples of good locations - Don't go botting straight after a game update, it can be a very easy way to get banned. Wait a few hours! If you ever get banned, just backtrack your mistakes and avoid them in the future: you cannot be banned without making botting mistakes. Keep in mind you can be delay-banned from using previous scripts, so don't go using free/crap scripts for 24 hours then switching to a premium script, because the free/crap previous script can still get you banned! I was thinking of sharing my experience of botting and how to make it go around, this will not focus on how to reach max on your account but how to bot for profit. from the account cost, then we have the bond for about 3m, and supplies 1m, --------- Before you make up your mind on what to bot you need to think of a few things 1. Mass botting (botting alot of accounts for a higher total profit) 2. Botting account for sale (e.g botting fishing and then sell it at 76) big profit comes in the end (might require some rep) 3. Botting something that requires stats (e.g botting karmawans at 99 cooking or killing gargoyls) Those 3 things all have their pro and cons 1. high ban chance, usually f2p so no need for bond, can be made almost fully automated, would most likely need investment in term of vps/vpn a real good thing to use is something @Explv made http://osbot.org/forum/topic/100554-explvs-osbot-manager/#entry1119709 2. 2 way profit, first you can profit when levling example is fletching (i do this) I would say this is the way to go if you feel that the account you are botting will reach a lvl where you would make the same amount of money botting a fresh account or when you can profit more from selling it. Problem is that it usually requires some kind of rep to be able to sell the accounts, another way to bot for selling purpose is combat skills, i usually use Stealthquester for 1-5 quests when i bot combat skills 3. The good thing about this is that it often yields more profit per h, buut the profit can also be lost in case of bans example of this are nature rune bots, they cost about 7m? to buy but make about but make about 500k per h, you would need your bot to survive 14h and after that is profit ------------------ (feel free to share your thoughts about these in replies) vps - virtuall private server vpn - virtuall private network What to think about when botting Should you use a vps/vpn? A vps should be used if your computer no longer can support bots (imo) I used it only because my computer could not handle more then 3 bots while playing cs/lol A thing i noticed was that the accounts i used on the vps got banned IF i traded over supplies from my main ip, but not if i manged to start it up on my new ip (vps) There is alot of talk that vpn does not lower ban chance which i am against, im not saying that just because you are using a vpn you wont get banned, but it might be a smart thing to use if mass botting to prevent chainbans I would always recommend buying a private script, got 2 perfect script made by @Imateamcape which i highly recommend, and with the amount of scripters on this forum I would suggest you taking advantage of them, just try to calculate how much you will have to bot to make back the cost of the script. If you dont want to buy a private script because it is to expensive, buy a premium, not as good buy some of them works exceptional - managed to get 85 mining from 70 on a few accounts using khals motherload, 0 bans so far Always think of the profit you make vs what you lose if the account gets banned. Maybe dont invest 10m on an account which makes 300k per h, if you are not certain that the account wont be banned before you trade it off the account.
