Has it actually happened? 'cause that is the only thing holding me back from making a secondary account. cba to play it legit.

It has happened before yes.

This has NEVER happened to me and I have many accounts that are banned.

I honestly doubt it would happen. If you're playing legit on the second account, even if it's on the same IP as a botting account, you wont get banned. Jagex bans case by case. I've had many accounts banned off my IP but no legit account has been banned. 

 

Honestly, you'll be fine. But if you bot on both accounts, then it's at risk. Even if one account you only bot a little.

Is it still safer to be a member and bot? I remember it being like that earlier on OSRS, where botting as a member was safer than f2p.

I'd say so. In addition, new accounts get banned really easily. So don't bot a fresh account

If both are together under same IP etc and one is botted the other is not there's a chance that both may get banned rather than the UNLEGIT one.
