Hi my son has been playing Runescape for a fairly long time, I believe he started playing it about 10 years ago or so when he was young. You know he always spends his time on that damn game which really aggravates me. However he told me that his Runescape account was recently banned. Now I don't know much about how bots work but I can assure you, every minute he has spent on that game was him playing it. I mean he skips school, never goes out with his friends much anymore but he does enjoy playing. Ever since his account has been banned he hasn't been the same....I can't stand watching him be miserable knowing all the time he spent on this game was for nothing. Please if there is any way we can sort this out, I would dearly appreciate it. Anyway I really hate seeing him depressed and I know we can resolve this mistake made by your employees somehow. Thanks for taking the time to contact Jagex.

 

As per our http://services.runescape.com/m=rswiki/en/Rules_of_RuneScape our players must not use other software to gain an unfair advantage in our games, this includes automation tools, macros, bots, or auto-typers. Your son’s account has been permanently banned because we have evidence that a macro programme was used on the account.

 

I understand you both may seem surprised that this situation has occurred, players are often surprised at being caught and further surprised at the level of punishment taken against their account, but we have unequivocal proof that the account has benefitted from the use of a macro programme.

 

Our internal systems go through stringent testing before being used and we are extremely confident in these systems. I would also ask you to consider what benefit we would gain from banning an account, unless we were 100% certain that a macro offence has been committed on the account.

 

The duration of an offence is dependent on the severity of the offence. As macro offences are thoroughly investigated before being added to the account and we do not ban an account unless we have unequivocal proof that a macro programme has been used, your son’s account will remain banned.

Before doing so I would politely suggest that he takes some time to read our http://services.runescape.com/m=rswiki/en/Rules_of_RuneScape in order to ensure that this type of situation does not occur again in future.

 

Please be assured that we take player safety extremely seriously. Often, talking to someone who is sympathetic and non-judgemental can help to resolve any issues you may be experiencing. It can also be important to help your son to realise that he’s not alone; that there is someone who is both able and willing to help.

If after taking these measures your son finds that he may continue to experience problems there are experts available, such as fully trained medical professionals, who may be able to help.

Well it would make since, ban you, you start over and get more membership...... and anyone notice how Jagex NEVER shows a single person the "proof" they always say they have? when all it would take would be them showing a video of a jmod banning someone not responding.......
