I think someone is attempting to hack me very often

Featured Replies

I only have 3 friends on my friends list at any time and I know all of them irl and every day when i log in there is a new person on my list that I did not add.

I have been running malewarebytes scans on both computers I use daily and it is not catching anything. What do I do ?

Check the last ip logged in, if it is yours everytime you log into the account, then you are fine, but if the ip is different, then you may have a hacker on your account. Also post back the ip if it is different here or send it to me in a private message so I can check and see if it is a member of OSBot.

I'll be sure to note the IP of the last log in when I log in next time when I wake up or from work.

Make sure your account is secured, by this I mean. Change your account to a more secured email and also try to enable the phone feature (sends you a message..), my knowledge of RS is limited but this should be useful.

If someone was attempting to hack you, the account would no longer be in your possession, make good use of this asap.

Good luck.

EDIT: Just realized it was your friends list, not actual account. Not sure :/

Ask your friends if they use a VPN. I doubt your being hacked if items haven't been stolen yet etc.

This is a great idea i would also have him have a F2P EOC accnt stay logged into the lobby 24/7 and when his account is logged out have the EOC accnt on his friends list and vise versa. Then you could take a destop video over a time you think your being hack. check the recording, see if you have logged in when you weren't playing...

you can see the last IP to login when you first log in at the welcome screen:

This is a good idea too. Try changing the registered email to one that is secure(possibly change the password for the registered email) and password for the RS log in. I mean even if someone isn't trying to hack you, it never hurts to tighten security up some. And also remember that Jagex Account Guardian does NOT protect against unauthorized login on Old School RS.

It could be your bot/script on accident. Happens to me all the time!

It is so easy to add some one trough a miss click nothing to worry about...What kind of a moronic hacker logs in adds people and logs out "job done"?

I add people on accident all the time.

There is no need to worry about a hacker. It's clear that you or a script accidentally clicked the chat box which will add the person clicked.

I hope this clears things up!

Bots misclick a lot, I'm sure you do too.

Don't sweat it man, if I was hacking someone I wouldn't add people to the friends list. I'd clear that bitch and get the hell outta there!
