Best forearm workouts?

Featured Replies

Anyone have any? Ones that you have personally used, not ones that you google searched and read off a body building site and have never used. I can google and find those too. I just want to know any ones that you've done first hand and have had decent results with

Don't work forearms (so directly) unless you are forreal a bodybuilder.. It's  a waste. You will build your forearms naturally by lifting heavy ass weight. In particular I recommend doing heavy ass hammer curls to work that nice brachioradialis. As well, I find concentration curls with your palm slightly facing you (wrist flexed) gives a nice pump, keeping a firm n steady grip on that dumbbell all the way throughout your curl.

Why would you want big forearms and not big bicep/triceps, you might want to look up popeye

You'll look like an idiot, just like if you skip leg day.

I already have big biceps and decently sized triceps. My forearms aren't as strong though, so I want to work on them a bit more to match in size to my upper arm

Preacher curls bro. To increase the size I feel like I need to get the pump going so drop that heavy weight and do light weight but with a lot of reps until you feel that burn. When you get to that stage you'll have stretched the tissue which will allow it room to grow and you will have destroyed the fibers which when repaired will grow larger. I usually keep going after that point as Muhammad Ali once said "I start counting my reps when it starts to hurt. That's when it matters the most."

Thanks man. I haven't heard that quote before, but I like it a lot. I'll remember it :D

Preacher curls, as the user above has stated work wonders. Naturally you will gain them as you lift frequently, but focusing on them every once and a while is not a bad idea whatsoever. Also, you can try wrist curls which focus directly on your forearm, however, try to limit your use of these as they do not train any other muscle in your arm besides your forearm which can cause your arms to look disproportional.

Goodluck, and work hard. :)

I only do compound exercises, i.e  bench press, squats, pull ups and i think i have pretty strong forearms, although not HUGE in size. IMO stick to compound exercises, they are the best!
