Life after Death & The Paranormal

Featured Replies

I personally believe in 'Life after Death' but at the same time its probably not for the right reason, I'm genuinely terrified of the thought of being in absolute nothingness after death, just the hope that something could exist after death puts my mind at ease.

As for the Paranormal, I mean things such as; Ghosts,Extra Terrestrials , spirits, demons etc...

There's so many shows and videos dedicated to proving the Paranormal do exist but there's always the issue of editing.

On top of the videos there are many inspirational and moving stories out there about all kind of things like contacting dead relatives and on the other hand topics such as people being haunted and possessed.

As far as Ghosts are concerned I can't say I'm a huge believer, this may sound ridiculous after already stating I believe in Life after Death but I don't really have a strong opinion on the matter.

I understand both subjects are rather far-fetched but I'm interested in hearing your views.

Very interesting topic! I do believe in life after death.

As far as ghosts etc I do not have many facts and information on them. But I am not sure that I entirely believe that a dead person is just walking around and still lingering around in old places they are familiar with on earth. As far as possessions of demons into peoples bodies, I do believe that is real. ^_^

Interesting, especially the possession :)

Just start doing Astral Projection!

Then everything you know and understand about Life/Spirits/Ghost/Demons/God, will completly change!

I believe there is nothing after death and that there is no such thing as the paranormal. That is just me though. I think when you die, it all turns black. You can't see can't hear, nothing. Everything is just black.

Reincarnation is an interesting idea, I sometimes feel as though I've done something before, I believe it's called Deja Vu?

Sometimes I just get a feeling that I've lived a moment before.

I hope there is something better than after death. But I sincerely doubt that is the case. There is no real evidence for it. I imagine it would be similar to being put under anesthesia. You are unconscious; therefore, unaware that you are no longer  conscious. You have no thoughts, only mild reflexes work. OFC... during death, there would be no reflexes. Not that it would matter because you would be unaware of it either way.

The great unknown would always scare me as a child. People tried to comfort me with religion. I don't know why, I naturally assumed there was nothing after death even though I was definitely not ignorant tor religion. I always logically assumed that there could not be life after death since our lives were connected to our bodies.

That's not necessarily true.

I know a few people who have died, and then came back. My father for instance.

He had a Heart-Attack while he was working on a highway, didn't make it to the hospital for a good half an hour. He was pronounced dead when they arrived. But they still tried working on him, and they revived him. He said he remembered seeing the light, and a bunch of his ancestors, grandparents and everyone were telling him to come, but then when he got closer he said he saw his dad. And his dad just said 'Your time isn't now' and literally, right after that he was brought back.

Pretty crazy, gives me the goose-bumps talking about it.

That is exactly the kind of inspirational experience I was talking about.

Ahh near death experiences. They sounded wonderful to me at first. But there is some good literature out there explaining neurological function while hypoxic.

What we can learn from that though, is that we have amazing brains with equally amazing imaginations. Such vivid and wonderful images can come to life even in the absence of breath. A little poetic, I know. But the point is, our imaginations run rampant. Eye witness testimonials are usually not accurate and psychologists have proved it. There was this one experiment that was conducted; their goal was to to convince a group of 6 year old that they had went to mars and had a picnic for lunch. Each and everyone of them were seriously lead to believe they had done so; every kid honestly believed that it had really happened; they were lead to the delusion via leading questions.I believe (I don't remember exactly since I took psychology 2 years ago...) that it was done for a pedophilia court case involving an autistic man as the defendant.

Yes, I am a debbie downer.

I believe I'm going to heaven smile.png I love the thought of dying. I can't wait for it to happen, but I know i'm here for a reason. I can't wait to be with Jesus. What is funny is most people say religion is a waste and it isn't true. Just think of this. I don't believe in any of the paranormal stuff, look at the movies we have these days, it is easy to alter video and change and create anything you want. It is all fake :)

If God/Jesus is real and you don't believe in him, when you die, you are going to spend the rest of your life in Hell. I on the other hand will spend the rest of my life in Heaven!

Now think of this, If i'm wrong, woo i waste 5-10 hours a week studying the Bible, and spreading the word. I go in the ground and nothing happens and I won't know anything anyways. I will just waste away with no feeling or knowing.

Now if your wrong, now that sucks. You are going to spend your life in Hell. My upside is amazing, yours isn't. Your downside is the same as your upside, mine isn't.

Isaiah 66:24
"And they will go out and look upon the dead bodies of those who rebelled against me; their worm will not die, nor will their fire be quenched, and they will be loathsome to all mankind."

Mark 9:43
If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It's better to enter eternal life with only one hand than to go into the unquenchable fires of hell with two hands.

Revelation 14:11

"And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name."

Matthew 3:12

"His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather His wheat into the barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire."

Matthew 13:41–42

The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will remove from his Kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. And the angels will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Revelation 20:15

And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.

I'd love to go to heaven but sometimes with all the 'Catastrophes' in the world (See what I did there) I lose a little faith :(

i personally think that there are no gods no masters, but i share your concern in "will i just rot in a whole in the ground while my mind is stuck in the everlasting void of oblivion?" but i've learned from having many viewpoints and aspects that the likeness of an afterlife while slim is possible, but not in the way many people think of it. i like to think maybe just maybe when we die we don't go to heaven or hell, but more like a place in Nirvana. Although this would just be you with your previous memories in a utopian society of utter perfection rather than heaven or hell. and i believe how they keep out the imperfection is that they just divide the mind into the places where they would be perfect, someone with a naturally homicidal mindset would be sent to a utopia of hunters plentiful with game to chill their bloodlust.

Your religion is the same as Judaism and Islam and even other more mystical religions in that they're all in the mindset of "if your not a devout member of +insert religion+ your going to their version of a hell.'
