My opinion:

1. Scholar rank = useless
2. Premium scripter rank = useless
3. Official script developer = ok
4. SDN Scripter = Needs new requirements

All in all, no new ranks. Lets just fix the ones we have now.

So we should keep "Official Scripter" as it is, change SDN Scripter to "Script Writer" (to include local scripters), and perhaps the option of including a "Scholar" or "Programmer" rank?

 

Official Script Writer - Someone with great talents and quality scripts on SDN. This can be gained by applying and having at least the Script Writer rank.

 

Script Writer - Someone with scripts on the SDN or local. This can be gained by applying with a requirement of at least 1 script on the SDN or 2 local scripts (or something along the lines of that)

 

Maybe:

Coder/Programmer/etc. Anyone who applies at a thread and shows exceptional talent (similar requirements to Veteran but without the old join date part)

 

That's what I feel would be good.

 

The Lifetime Sponsor should only apply to the OSW, scholar is just a 'fun/prestigious' rank. And the only perks for Script Writer are the rank and no ads and 1 extra bot tab. No discount to scripts.

The ranks we have now are pointless. SDN Scripter should be just "Script Writer", and OSD shouldn't even be a thing considering it's really just a pathetic version of Scholar as it only pertains to writing scripts. There needs to be at least someway to recognize highly intelligent people like and not @harrynoob so they can stand out from the rest. Lot's more programmers would be active here if they got something for helping out (since 99% of them cba to make a script).

That is 100% false, considering the whole site is built on programming. Why do you think other botting communities value (and give ranks) to the people who know what their doing?

I don't partake in other botting communities so I don't know. I don't think true scholars give a damn about a PiP for a community in which they do not even relate to. The people who actually contribute to OSBot are already OSD, or could be easily.

I don't necessarily agree considering that the scripts you use to bot are programmed in Java, and the bot you use to run the scripts use Java. I would understand if you said adding a "composer" rank is pointless

What's exactly the difference? The names are misleading. Script "Developer" is someone who develops scripts and a Script "Writer" is someone who writes them.

and 

Script Writer
