I don't really mind and I don't think it will devalue the current sdn scripter rank because plenty of local scipts are amazingly well done.

I guess it's only fair to reward the exceptional local scipters.

 

In the end It's more work for you tho (going through the local scripts to find exceptional scripters), I'm not against this idea.

 

And btw...

The name change will only cause confusion to those who do not know the difference between writer and developer.

But a 'scripter' is a skid, I also think script writer sounds better ;p

So we should keep "Official Scripter" as it is, change SDN Scripter to "Script Writer" (to include local scripters), and perhaps the option of including a "Scholar" or "Programmer" rank?

okay you're making this worse by adding that people who have local scripts can now have the rank as well...... it's going to create more ranks and you're trying to change whats worked well. Don't try fixing something that doesn't need fixing.

 

Honestly this is how it should be. SDN Scripter rank should stay. I really think you should add a  premium scripter rank mate. As for OSD I think it should stay for those who have more programming knowledge than other scripters and etc.  Scholar rank i'm all for it since very few people would be able to get it.

In my opinion there's no need for even a "Official Scripter" rank. "Script Writer" and some sort of programmer rank is all that's needed, if there's anymore it leads to unnecessary forum clutter.

Of course people with local scripts should be allowed to have the rank. There's so many pointless SDN scripts out because people just want the Scripter rank. Just make a forum for scripter and scholar type ranks an application process that anyone can fill out.
