Task manager for osbot

Featured Replies

Recently, I came up with this idea of a task manager for osbot.

Basically much like how some scripts have a task manager(like fletching= fletch X logs into x amount of bows than string x amount of bows no need to stop it's all automatic)

I thought how cool it'd be to have that where the bot is told to run a specific script under specific settings and then stop it when it completes it's goal(example a specific level or X amount of products produced like ore, logs etc)  then start a different one under specific settings, and the cycle continues until that scripts goal is done.

For example, one moment the bot will run a wood cutting AIO for say specifically in tree gnome stronghold chopping yews and willonly shut down the script when it has collected X logs. Then it will shut down and switch on a Fletching script under specific settings until there are X longbows. Then perhaps it will use an alchemy or merchant script to high alch/sell the bows and once that's done goes back to wood cutting no sweat. Then it just will go on forever(well until it takes a break/the next osbot update isneeded but yeah literally no setting up required it just will keep going on forever there are so many possibilities)

I look forward to hear all of your thoughts on this idea, and see where this goes =)

Regards, Noah

Sounds neat, but it would only be able to support a small number of scripts. For example, if I wanted to go from killing druids to mining, there is no code to make that transition.

Well now that the entire world map has been mapped with web walking it's certainly more plausible. Of course then there's the problem like in that case it's highly unlikely to have a pick axe on hand. So i mean you're right how would it know to go to the bank and deposit food/armor and get pick axes than transition.

perhaps some day it will be possible to establish a universal transition of sorts. even so for those few scripts it could support it'd be amazingly helpful and besides even if this could work for all scripts it'd probably start small like this anyways for simplicity sake see where it goes and then expand so I am still optimistic about this =)

*sees you made the cannonball script* awesome script =) definitely one of my favorites =) goes along really well with super heating and then take those steel bars turn them into cannonballs sell for [profit =). see that right there would be an awesome use of the task manager if it existed =). go from mining to super heating to cannonball making and smoothly end with merching bot =) all those things could be done in al kahrid and then getting to varrock is simple from there and then goes back and does it again =)

another great thing about the task manger would be lower ban rate cause switching task constantly never staying the same =)

I totally agree with this, and am hoping it happens eventually.  I know scrubs is working on something sort of like this, well a manager to stop and start bots

Sounds Interesting.......

This would be a wonderful feature to have!

The only feasible way I could see this being implemented into the client is a set run time. Other then that the scripter would have to design one to work for their script.
