There will always be scammers whether you add a new system or not. 

No I like scamming, it entertains me.

This wont happen :LOL: Use a MM or risk gettng scammed

Need to make it where scammers cant be unbanned as well

I've always thought of a system like this:

 

Sponsor's are able to:

• Be a Middleman
• Start up a "Hiring' Service - Cinnamon, Bawsz etc
• Sell an individual service
• Sell Gold/Buy Gold (Have a shop)
• Exchange Gold
• Sell Accounts
• Sell Membership
• Sell other items

 

VIP's are able to do:

• Sell individual Services (NOT HIRING)
• Sell Gold/Buy Gold (Have a shop)
• Sell Accounts
• Sell Membership
• Sell other items

 

Free members are able to:

• Purchase a Middle Man
• Buy services AND work for a sponsor if hired
• Buy Gold (NO SHOPS)
• Buy Accounts (NO SHOPS)
• Buy Membership (NO SHOPS)
• Buy other items

 

 

So basically:

 

Middlemen:

 

Be a Middleman - Sponsor

Purchase a Middleman - ALL USERS

 

Accounts:

 

Buy singular accounts (Not a shop) - ALL USERS

I don't think there really need to be any rules in place. If you use your head, follow all the market rules, use a trusted middleman/don't go first, and take the proper precautions you should be fine.

 

I've only been scammed once in 50+ trades I've done over the course of my RS history, and that was my fault because I added an imposter on Skype + didn't ask for a verification PM through the site.

Theres going to be a lot of changes in the market place to abolish scamming. Your deposit idea won't work.  like at all nice try tho. 

 

just use a MM man its that easy...

ok guys, i was just waiting for a good response, but in all honesty, i feel the MM responses will keep flooding in, so heres the problem with MM

 

using a MM, is just simply adding MORE risk for both parties, using a MM, is like asking a Lion, to referee a Buffalo fight, at anytime, he or she could just as easily fuck both of them up. MM are bias, they add risk, using an unbias middle ground is the only solution and goal of this idea

 

i understand people saying, getting scammed doesnt happen if your careful, but it does, it happens to the best of us, that argument is as solid as saying, you wont get raped if you dont wear short skirts, well..... you can, it happens

 

iM NOT TRYING TO STOP SCAMMING ALLL TOGETHER, that will be hard, im just proposing a means to REDUCE the risk

Could just add it as a bonus feature, not mandatory but beneficial to legitimate marketers.

If you are questioning the legitimacy of something, you might want to just end the deal. I never go into a deal that i feel could go either way. I just back out.

When it comes to buying a account 50% of the sellers will attempt to recover it, and it's rare to get a high feedback sponser seller a account.

Helen today claims her skype was hacked, after being given 148-149$ worth of GP by Simon (http://osbot.org/forum/topic/36205-hellenwong-scam-dispute/), without any evidence or involvement, i cannot make a judgment, or publicly air my opinon, HOWEVER, we've all seen these stories before, and it simple comes down to one fact, it is not Simons fault. Helen is resposible for the security of her assets, and therefore should be held responsible, BUT without any real authority, we cannot enforce a punishment, as she can simply leave the forum.

lets be harder on scammers.

lets leave no room for them to simply get away with it.

Another option that might be good for the site,

 

get someone to make a sort of "PA" by letting Osbot hold the money for various trades, an example:

 

Player A wants to sell 10M 07 gp for 30$

Player B wants to buy 10M 07 gp for 30$

 

They both agree to trade.

 

Player A makes an "offer" on the osbot trade system,

Player B responds on the offer and pais the 30$, those will be hold on osbot untill player A paid player B.

 

How about this? or will it be to hard to make?

 

That's exactly what a middleman would be used for. You're just overcomplicating the system.
