timonium513
I'm opening a discussion as I've seen very little on here. Many around the greater botting community are exclaiming botting is doomed to die. I believe so long as we communicate experiences of what is working and what is not, we as a community can form better tactics. Traditionally, "main" accounts are rather untouched by bans so long as you bot via good proxies on limited daily botting times, but this is no longer the case as even they are being hit with moderate bot busting offences at a high frequency. Some background: I'm not naming clients as I'm not here to promote anything, but I've used multiple botting clients for years and continue to do so as some tend to perform better at certain times than others in terms of detectability. I don't do gold farms anymore as the ban rate is significantly higher than account building and turns into a matter of playing a numbers game with the continual replacement of inevitably culled accounts within a farm. So I'm an experienced botter with a focus on account building and selling. Since July I and many others have noticed a ramp up in bot busting whether you do injection or mirror doesn't seem to yield any discernable difference in detectability at the moment. I noticed particular hotspots at first, but now it has spread to more of a blanket coverage that is nailing account building at rates near that of gold farming in my anecdotal experience substantiated from feedback within a sizable private discord I'm in. This is a great community, let's share information and figure it out together! What is working for you? What isn't working and is avoid at all costs for you? Botting methods? Stealth or mirror? Certain activities?
timonium513
Mirror and stealth seem to be a negligible difference in ban rights for me atm. There are certainly hotspots such as trawler, mlm, and minigames in general I have just decided to avoid. Slayer also seems to be a fast way to get detected right now. Jagex accounts also seem to be detected at higher rates than standard accounts, but this by no means has enough data between me and the fellas I've spoken with to prove. EDIT: I've also come to a screeching halt on botting times, down to 2-3 hours on anything that isn't bank standing. Czar
So when I start my accounts I always do a bunch of quests, and minimise the amount of level-1 skills, even if it means just starting quests and just getting 4-5 levels in skills, and this has dramatically changed the account's success in terms of not getting banned.
Ayayron
I've done all quests on new accounts only to have other things flag them. Obviously getting a bunch of quests done helps. Not muling gold or items over to them helps. However, some kills just guarantee a ban, mini games and certain things that can produce money. Hunter, Slayer almost always. Mining, Fishing, Fighting (Depending on what)

manko
been a round a long time with botting on RS and all them years a go they said the bot nuke of 2011 was going to end botting and it did for a month or so but the bot come back but jagex all so seen there players numbers drop from 130k+ players to only 30k/40k so this will just put a hold on it for a bit till C++ clients come out as all games have bots so just wait for it to happen and go from there.

yfoo
OSRS (as of now) doesn't use kernal anticheat, so no need yet for crazy solutions involving 2 computers and DMA. Its pattern matching banned account play patterns and a bit of client detection. Assuming client detection is not an issue, switching up tasks and "playing like a player" mostly handles the pattern matching designed to catch bot farms building accounts in a particular way. RN most major bots hook onto use the legacy java client which apparently is ~90% bots according to Jagex. Maybe a year from now, we would have likely switched into the c++ new client. There maybe some hiccups with detection with early versions but with trial and error things get figured out like RS3. Then Jagex does some other BS down the line and the cycle repeats.
rslists
Been using mirror for a while now. Moderate breaks. Got probably 20 99's over the course of 2 years. Never been banned. Mirror doesn't work well on mac apple silicon but it allows me to rest my accounts.
dotherobot
Jagex Anti-Cheat Team Annual Schedule: 1. Implement a new anti-cheat technology 2. Direct the anti-cheating team to work around the clock to ban as many accounts as possible 3. Proudly announce that botters have been defeated on every social media channel 4. Anti-cheating team goes on vacation 5. Botters start botting around the clock again Edited August 14 by dotherobot
revoke11
Been using the stealth client, got a few perms at a hotspot using a bad script. I fixed the script and since the hotspot hasn't caused me any problems. No bans outside of the hotspot. 1-2 instances on my own residential IP. Less than 12 hours a day. Not botting every day. Decent amount of breaks. Account is 100% botted and has made decent progress. Also there have been updates that causes all accounts to be banned. So just have to avoid update days. Seems like the one today is a might cause it.

I want to use Mirror, versus stealth, as I just came back and started a new account. I'm looking to just do recreational botting for my ironman account, and don't want to be caught. I have seen the new Jagex Launcher, and that it's not like the old OSRS client I'm used to. Can you tell me how you're able to use Mirror Mode? froster666
Yes I've noticed a huge ramp up in ban rates, Even when I use proxys and change isp i still get banned and fast. Even with premium scripts that have gotten me 99 fishing rc farming and hunter in the past. Even with mouse recorders running a 30 minute recording. I've had the itch to get back into it haha. mouse recorders never let me down in the past, 0 bans on my end too. I always used 'macro recorder' as it can add color detection to add failsafes.
