Is it realistically possible to sell my main without giving up my original e-mail?

it is realistic, but you just have to find someone willing to take the risk that you wont fuck him over. Email or no email it doesn't matter when it comes to recovering. Any account can be recovered. 

As Turk says, depends on the buyer you find really. But I'd expect a large percentage to be put off by it.

You need to be really trusted for that. You will not find a buyer easily if you are not really really trusted.

Because Jagex know emails can be stolen too. The OO can still recover the account back without the email, and the OO can also recover his email back too most likely. Only worth buying accounts if you know you can trust the seller.

Just make a fresh email and hand over the original, Just cut off all subscriptions / private emails and change everything over to your new one,

Once your done transferring your life to a new email then just hand over the original, It's the only solution I can see
