Should I buy a Macbook Pro or a custom build HP Desktop?

Featured Replies

Title says it all, I'm wondering if I should get a Macbook pro or a custom Built HP Desktop.

If you do serious school work/college work etc. Go for a macbook, performance is great in my opinion with 5 years of using my own.

When it comes to gaming, multiples issues come about here and there, can be fixed if you're clever/intelligent enough, but i don't recommend it for gaming. Go for a custom hp desktop if gaming is what interests you.

Good luck on your purchase

Depends whether you're an idiot, a hipster, or smart.

if smart, build your own pc, if you're an idiot or a hipster, get a macbook.

Alrighty then PC it is!

My macs screen makes a cracking sound when i move it. The black thing that holds the screen to the rest of the computer sometimes cracks down when i press on it...

This.

If you are aiming to get the least possibly value for any purchase, buy an Apple product. The choice is simple.

If you want it to:

Look good

Work for school

Do basically everything

Then buy a macbook pro. If not get a pc

School/work -Mac

Games -PC

But I torented Windows on my MacBook and games like Skyrim run better than on my PC (custom)

Why is it so hard doing schoolwork on a pc? You can get a pc with the same specs as a macbook pro for probably half the money too.

pc ftw......... just make sure u pick a really reliable one that will last you a while :)

The problem with apple products in general is that they are not built to last. They are built to be really really really expensive yet not durable, so you spend a ridiculous amount of money on their products. Apple products are also harder to fix once they are broken - for many problems, only apple can service them, and since they have a monopoly on it, they charge a fortune.

I'd recommend a custom built PC. Not just because "pcs > macs," but because the cost of maintenance is much lower, and it's easier to upgrade as you see fit. You also get more power for your dollar if you know what you're doing.

I'd custon build your own PC, by actually buying the parts.

It's cheap(er), it's fun, it's a great learning experience, it's the best route to go.

It's not too heard to do it, my sister is 14 and I helped (by only explaining to her what to do) her build her own PC recently.

If you're not up for that, then just buy a PC from somewhere.

I advise against mac, overpriced. You can spend the same money on a PC and get WAY MORE out of it.
