Jagex can identify botclients

Featured Replies

Is this true? I would like a verification, because I'm sort of paranoid of ever botting unless I babysit it. Jacmob stated that Jagex has the tools for them to identify the different clients, and differentiate a bot client from a normal client, swifkit, or orion.

Jagex likes to scare bots.

Apparently they can detect RSBot.

Yes, they can. Although that is not their focus according to Jacmob. In other words they will not be putting much effort into finding a way to detect a client like OSBot unless it's fairly easy to do so.

Not to feed your paranoia but i just had both my accounts banned literally in 2 days, fishing... didn't have any problems for a week now this just suddenly happened..

RSBot is detectable, even one of the admins of RSBot said so. I'd image even if Jagex could detect OSBot, they wouldn't go around perm banning every single person. They'd make it look like they can't detect us. So then we buy more membership and when we do get banned we just make a new account and buy more membership. I think Jagex cares more about the money than the bots on their game.

this.

If there are like 100k Accounts. And there are like 60k bots.

If they say they can detect all the bots. Their would be a population of 40k people playing.

Low population means lower membership pins.

If they would ban all the bots instand. 60.000 Times 7= $420k a month.

They will never ever ban all the bots.

Its to expensive to ban all of them.

Its a little game that the botters and rs are playing.

This is for all the offenses..

Jagex has been using behavior analysis to detects bots. Basically if your scripts do repeated actions and never fail, your account's actions could be compared to other bots and then flagged or banned. We are currently implementing some new anti-ban technologies such as miss-clicking and random object interactions to counter bot-watch.

Also, note that Jacmob could be fired for abusing his JMod powers on Monday.

 How can Jacmob be fired?

If he overstepped his boundaries. But I doubt he would be that stupid as I'm sure Jagex gave him the all-clear to go ahead and do this.

I know it has already been said, but in my opinion I think Jagex can easily detect bot clients and even who is botting. When they are temp banning you it is a warning that you are caught botting or maybe you just botted too long. I think they know it's hard to get exp so they tolerate bots to a minimum, but if you happen to be caught during a bot bust, well too bad. I think if you run your bots safely and give them moderate breaks your chance to get banned will be slim.

Good question.

Fishing has a super high ban rate.
